Sea urchins are small, spiny sea creatures of the class Echinoidea found in oceans all over the world. The name urchin is an Old English name for the round spiny hedgehogs sea urchins resemble. Their shell, which is also called the “test”, is globular in shape and covered with spines. The size of an adult test is typically from 3 to 10 cm. These urchin ‘tests’ were being sold alongside some large clam shells. Sold a Mounted Print on RedBubble to a Mystery buyer.

This image has been nominated for the prestigous Pay it forward group by Geraldine Lefoe This is what she had to say about it: “I love the mood created in this image by Mark Ross – the lighting and treatment are superb.” Geraldine also commented personally as follows: Amazing art Mark – came across your work somewhere else then found you on Redbubble. I love the way you have captured these people each in their own world as though no one else exists. Your processing is superb. Thank you for nominating this Geraldine! Elephant Rocks, William Bay National Park, Western Australia (near Denmark) This national park is one of my favourite places on Earth. I was lucky to visit recently with my sister, climbing around the rocks and beaches for hours. Only we had to share it with a few snakes that were making the most of the spring sunshine! It underwent a bit of tweaking in Photoshop which included a new sky and some fun filters. As with the previous version, I owe our own beautiful and talented Vonne – RavenSoul for her fabulous tweaking suggestions!!! The original: /
The Beachport Jetty in the Limestone Coast, the second longest in South Australia. The jetty is currently closed for repairs with most of the upper structure being replaced. The railway tracks and handrails have been removed and I believe the rails will be back up in time or the Christmas Holiday rush when the towns population goes from 450 up to about 5,000!!!! A rare chance to get a shot like this before the repairs are finished. Three shot stitch in Photoshop CS3. Canon 400D 18/55 with CIR Polarising filter.

This artwork was featured in Live, Love, Dream, Feminine Intent, ImageWriting and The Love Of Eerie and Enchanting Artwork This piece reflects the period of transition in which I currently find myself. It’s the end of the year, and naturally I’m thinking of how much I’ve evolved creatively over the last year. I’ve just completed my first poetry book, which is currently in production, and now I find myself looking “beyond my sight” to see what lies out there waiting to be discovered. Inspired by the song Becoming by Jewel. Unfortunately, I cannot find it anywhere online due to copyright issues, so I can’t provide a link.
