Wings by Anthony West If I had wings to fly / I’d breathe in deep / and spread them wide / as I leap from the cliff / into the wind / where the gulls glide. Crossing this wide sea / I glide above cruel waves / that reach up to drown my flight / in their cold / deep / blue-green graves. And as your day grows slowly light / I’d arrive on worn-out wings / to hold you / in your waking dreams / and feel you soft / and gently warm / in my embrace at last.

Of taloned mosters and reptilian mages. Of cunning wyrms and low, crawling beasts. Some tell of mute, ferocious animals, children of earth and flesh. Others proclaim sly creatures of darkness, lurking venom and cruelly slitted eyes. Yet others laud the gracefully scaled spirits of the air, the bright and majestic roaring flames, the shining talons, the clever speeches and shining hoards… This is not one of those. This is the Child of the Sea, who melds with water, and flows with the waves. This is the Daughter of Salt, shining and precious, invisible in the vast seas and yet hidden in every drop. This is the seadragon, who brings the water to life with her turbulence, creating kinspirits from the froth and foam of her passing, and from sleek shining water, and the glimmer of sunlight on a droplet forms her scales… / This is the leaping splash that startles sailors, the dancing krakenmaid flying out with the spray. Old, old and deep as the seas, resting in the dark waters before the first fish formed from her tiny kin, and young, young and new formed with every wave. Everywhere and nowhere, she leaps up, dragging forth wings out of waves, dancing on the swells, whirls and rises and falls, crashing water, shining scales… You will never see her. Be grateful for a quiet life. ArtRage 2.5 and graphics tablet / About 10 hours. Dragonlings slightly easier to see in the WIP but more have been added since. Have you seen them? / Lineart This was one of my longest and I enjoyed it a lot, and learnt a lot, and …well, there’s a part of my head still rushing around in the waves there

This is our other dog who’s name is snoopy. He is 8yrs old. He has been a little bit sick lately. The vet called us tonight and the blood count is high. Wanted to know if he had been vomiting. I said, “NO”. I guess because of his age it is normal to have a high count in your blood. I guess snoopy has an inflamation of the pancreas but he is okay. BUT we also found out that he needs surgery on both of his eyes plus he also needs his ears done (again). That is an on going thing for him. He also needs to get his teeth done. After all is said and done I am probably looking at over $2500 if not more. Ouch! I have to take him back to the vet now since we got the blood results back. So, I will know more soon. Hopefully, I can start selling some stuff so I can give him the surgery. :o) / Doesn’t he have the sadess looking face? He is a bull pointer with part shapei. The Angel Of The Shores is a series of images, however this one is the key holder, here the angel is greeted by the Shore Spirit, as you can see from the Angel’s face she is fascinated with the dancing spirit before her, the shore spirit comes to the angel to ask for her to pray for all at sea, all who have perished and all who challenge the waves. This is not a numbered image, however / one VERY limited edition only 5 will be sold in mounted or framed prints after that this will only be available in greeting card format!

Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia is the largest fringing reef in the world and the only reef system on the western side of a continent. The coral emerges from the deep blue up to the oceans surface. Inside the reef are pristine lagoons with coral and abundant marine life, easily accessible of the beach with a few metres swimming. For those familiar with Ningaloo Reef – you can see turquoise bay at the far left of the image. This photo was taken on an exceptionally calm day out of a microlight aircraft. I’ve done aerial photography here before out of a ‘normal’ plane but this experience left me speechless.
