A pair of pipe fish get together to share some piping hot love on a recent dive trip up on the Great Barrier Reef. The red belly on the top fish indicates it is mating, or looking to mate. It was wonderful to find two of these little guys together at the same time. Nikon D200 / 105mm VR macro
A square crop of this small shrimp sitting on an anemone. Same image available in vertical format here

Everyone’s favorite. Nemo. Great Barrier Reef – Near Cairns. Far North Queensland. Nikon D200 / 105mm VRmacro
A small dumpling squid emerges from its hiding place in the sand at night. They are onlyabout 6-8cm long but I really enjoy the opal-like colours that you get in this species. They certainly make a wonderful macro subject for the under water photographer. Shot on a recent dive off the Blairgowerie Marina, on the Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne
