  • A close up to show detail on a pygmy seahorse. These sea horses are tiny creatures (about 15mm long) that live on coral (sea fans) in tropical reefs around the Pacific. They are very difficult to find. This one was taken on a trip I did to Indonesia. Nikon D200 / 105mm VR macro

  • The bridge or the Rozi wreck. VIEW BY SUBJECT Marine Life Wreck Dives Reefs, Divers & Siloetes Sun Sets Black & White Digital Art & Posters

  • I watch the school of fish swim past, and we are all watched by the man standing on the pontoon above. Location Raja Ampat – Indonesia Nikon D200 / 10.5 mm fish eye lens

  • Taken on a muck dive in the Solomon Islands- so there is some silt in the water (the point of a “muck” dive) but I thought it was interesting that they were together…

  • A scene from one of the reefs in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Taken in August 2008. The school of yellow fish was passing low, hugging the reef, while a school of larger fish hangs in the mid water above.

  • My good friend Shaddy volunteered to model for me in front of this spectacular portion of the Great Barrier Reef. We were travelling on the Mike Ball liveaboard vessel Spoil Sport, out of Cairns, in Far North Queensland. Thanks to Shaddy for being such a good model.

  • Large barracuda congregating during a dive on the Great Barrier Reef. Nikon D200 / 10.5mm fisheye

  • A squid (a southern calamari) waits patiently over a patch of reef on a recent night dive off Blairgowerie in Victoria. Sitting, watching, waiting for prey to swim by. I love how the squid has been caught by my flashes in this shot but is otherwise surrounded by the dark inky water. Night diving at its best. Nikon D200 / 105mm VR macro

  • A blue ring octopus going for a night time walk under the Blairgowerie marina, on the Mornington Peninsula, near Melbourne

  • Two schools of fish swam by each other in the warm tropical waters off West Papua, Irian Jaya A touch abstract – Its all a bit chaotic

  • In the No.1 hold on the wreck at a depth of 100ft/30m, you can still see several Willeys jeeps. These were originally packed for transport in wooden crates, which have long since rotted, and packed in such a way that the wheels were removed and placed on the back seat. The windscreen was on top of the wheels, and the steering wheel packed in one of the wheel rims. They were stacked on top of each other, but as the ship now lies on her side they are on their rear ends. Just one of the many relics to be found on the President Coolidge, Santo Vanuatu. / I am planning a trip for early this year, if any one is interested drop me a bubblemail, and I will keep you informed. • I visited the North Island of New Zealand in Febuary 2009 and was lucky enough to get out for a dive to the Poor Knights Islands. Famous for its good sport fishing and even better scuba diving ever since they declared this area a marine park. This tiny fish sat on an orange sponge but someone should tell it that orange and purple clash. Diving was done with Yukon Charters, Tutukaka.

  • A soft coral taken off Hideaway Island Vanuatu. View my underwater collection here Take a look at my other photos / Watch my video Dive the Coolidge / Add me to your watchlist / Visit my website /

  • Taken Pango Cove off Vila Vanuatu. The Christmas Tree Worm (Spirobranchus gigantteus) comes in an assortment of colors – yellows, reds, blues, oranges and most colors in between. The larvae of the tiny but spectacular Christmas Tree Worm settle into minute crevices where coral polyps have died. The worms secrete a tube of calcium carbonate, into which they retreat at low tide, or if disturbed, but once covered with water they stretch out their filamentous arms like miniature pine trees.
