For many of us, boats hold a special magic; the promise of adventure, freedom or just a good day fishing. This jukong was resting on the shores of Home Island, Cocos Islands. A calm and quite moment, yet I’m sure this boat could tell a tale or two of the sea, the elements and the people it has carried. Home Island, Cocos Islands, Australia
This weekend I did something very very silly…. / I took my new camera on a jet ski in a plastic container (i.e not waterproof housing) and got some snaps of Port Phillip Bay. We only nearly fell of the jet ski, hmmm…. repeatedly. I hope it was worth it! Thanks to my Jetski driver and all round relaxing company James

White Daisies by Karin Taylor / mixed media production / on canvas textured paper / /
Another shot from my shoot of the wreck at Woody Point, taken from a different angle. 6 Second exposure.
/ Sailor Girl is a mixed media production on canvas textured paper, I used ink, pastel, and some acrylic…..inks are mainly black, acrylics are mainly white, you can see the canvas texture showing through the pastel, which gives it a nice textured appeal I am really into sailing boats, hope you like this one :D Here’s another one available in a print at last!
I took this shot of the marina… it was cold, wet and foggy

Man walking his two dogs at Rosebud front beach.
otherwise known as… Parley Cove ;) My husband and I travel to Cannon Beach every year, and I have been going since I was 16. I’ve always wished I could see a pirate ship sailing through the waters there…or anchored just off shore. And now, I have! ;)

This was taken in Key West off the marina watching the sunset. It was just gorgeous with boats in the water and cameras clicking away. It’s a great place for taking pictures of quaint buildings and cruise ships docked for the day. Taken with a Canon XTI and wide angle lens 24-12mm / f/8 / exposure-1/640 / ISO-200 / focal length-24mm FEATURED PHOTOGRAPHY IN-”The Nautical Group”
I know not many people find this beach in Noosa Heads National Park, Queensland, Australia. Every time I visit here, there is not one footprint on the beach. This is the same beach as The Immortal Soldier image, shot on the same day. The unused path that leads to this beach is hard to find, and the incline can be up to 80%, and very slippery. Sometimes sliding is the best way down :) I can sit here for hours, it’s so tranquil and unspoilt. Canon 50D, 10mm, 16:9 crop. Available Large and best viewed Large!
This is just one in a collection of images of the “Endeavour” that I have resurrected from my shoebox. / Back in 1993 I was on a boat greeting the “Endeavour” as she came through the heads of Port Phillip Bay here in Melbourne. / I took these of her stern as we were mobbed by every ship and boat in the bay…..... / Click here if you want to read about this ship.. / . / This image was scanned after being taken with a Pentax Spotmatic 35mm, then hdr x2 images. ==============
