About an hour before sunrise on a winter trip down the Great Ocean road. The pre-dawn glow and moonlight illuminates a now some what more crumbled Victorian icon.

This was captured after a rain storm, while we were on holidays at Lorne. The sky lit up as though it was on fire, with the clouds reflecting the late afternoon sun and the resulting water lying on the pier also mirrored the sky and the couta boat, docked there.

A section of the coastline at ‘The Twelve Apostles’, Port Campbell National Park, Victoria, Australia. Taken before the collapse in 2005 of the stack in the forground. Photographed at night by time exposure (approx 1 1/2 hrs). / Note: This image is rather soft in focus due to gusty gale force winds and slight camera movement during the exposure even with the tripod anchored down. / Nikon F3, Fuji RDP film. / © Ern Mainka
This image was created at the Apollo Bay Docks early in 2008, went here for a holiday just as I was getting into Photography. I went down to the docks just as a storm was rolling in and it made for some interesting weather conditions! This pic was created from one raw file. I changed the exposures in Lightroom and then merged 3 images using Photomatix, increased the blue and green saturation levels in Lightroom and added a bit of contrast. This is the result! Strange how the image I intend to make is never the final result. A golden moment in between two early morning, rather severe rainstorms near Bellbrae, on The Great Ocean Road. Genesis 9:11-17 (New King James Version) / 11 Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.” / 12 And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: 13 I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. 14 It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; 15 and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” 17 And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.” God’s Promise to Noah, after The Great Flood !! The Apostles From Above, Great Ocean Road Victoria, Australia. One of the most scary rides I have ever had. The wind was blowing a gale and the tiny helicoptor was being tossed about like a toy. / Nikon D70 / Lens 18-70 / A F11 / S 1/320s / F/L 18mm / ISO 200

A wave crashes the London Arch, on the Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Australia, at sunrise. This was taken at the end of autumn on a very cloudy morning. I used a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera, 18-55mm lens and a tripod. I sold a large framed print (walnut and on red bubble) to my kind sister, Nadia, that she bought as a house warming and birthday present for a lucky friend. Thanks so much Nadia.
