16”x 12” Watercolour painting on cold pressed paper of the sun setting from Long Island, Whitsundays. This painting is a memory of a trip my husband and I took earlier this year to the beautiful island. To have a good friend, take their hand… and walk on the beach. This is a story.. of best friends who happend to marry best friends who both have two year olds. The girl is my daughter Summer and her best of friends Matthew. Thank you Larissa for calling this to my attention. I have been away on vacation with limited internet access so I will be catching up soon. I just couldnt resist this shot as I was mulling through my picts of the week spent with friends and family. Taken in the Outer Banks of NC. WOW! Thank you all so much for the comments, and favs. This is a very special image to me. I’m thrilled so many others took the time to take a visit. I appreciate you all.

/ / “Beach Picnic” is a pencil drawing which I’ve coloured digitally, I hope you like this image with mother and daughter in similar sundresses. As a child we enjoyed beach picnics all the time, mum would make us special fried chicken (better than Kentucky Fried) and we would go out on the boat to a little island, where i would play with soldier crabs for hours on end, while dad fished and mum sunbaked… they were wonderful times. We also went on the annual Beach Picnic to Bonny Hills with the church and we were great friends with the priest back in those days who was a top water skier.. We would see so many things at Bonny Hills, sea snakes slithered past in the creek where we were swimming and there were amazing white clay deposits in the sand….hours of fun were had by all… not to mention we even had a little mass there… top fun :)

Summer Breeze a beautiful poem by the same title by a dear friend of mine Anne Van Alkemade / Inspired by the song Summer Breeze / by Seals and Croft Also inspired by myself and my experience of having bugs and insects come to try and take up residence in my ears… scrabbling around in there, getting all comfy…while I’m going crazy…click beetles, houseflies and spiders so far have all tried this… lol This is a girl who has an affinity with nature, and as the summer breezes begin to blow here in Australia…....the animals are drawn to live in her hair thinking that it must be branches of a tree… yes, my hair’s that dry… :) I thought it a fitting one for summer, hope you like her… Pencil drawing took me about 3 hours / Digital colouring – 10 hours / Total time 13 hours

A wave crashes the London Arch, on the Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Australia, at sunrise. This was taken at the end of autumn on a very cloudy morning. I used a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera, 18-55mm lens and a tripod. I sold a large framed print (walnut and on red bubble) to my kind sister, Nadia, that she bought as a house warming and birthday present for a lucky friend. Thanks so much Nadia.
