Dawn at Garie Beach, Royal National Park just south of Sydney, Australia. A seagull very obligingly flew into shot as I was taking this. Can you spot the silhouetted fishermen? / I’m lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen – it’s only a little national park (14,000 ha) but the variety of stuff to photograph is simply endlessly inspiring. Canon 30D / Tv: 1/125 / Av: f/32 / ISO: 100 / FL: 70mm then cropped Taken on the same magic morning as Light’s Flight: / /
Enjoy!

This image was taken @ Port Willunga at the remains of the old jetty. On a recent journey back to Port Willunga recently, I’d noticed that many of these posts had been burnt. A fun stunt at the time I suppose :( Best viewed on a black background. Images from Australia / Architecture / Images from Japan / Sunsets / Water Scenes
Location: Beirut, Lebanon
This painting was rendered on cold press paper, at last 300 lb. I dont know for sure as it was a gift along with many other papers. I usually work on hot press watercolor or Clayboard, both smooth surfaces. This paper is very rough and absorbed water and pigment almost on contact, before it could plume. There was texture and a different absorbtion time to contend with. My usual technique, which requires large amounts of water and controlled pluming, wasn’t possible on this ground, as it was so thirsty! It was a pleasure working with the imagery and attempting to convey the shimmer and movement of koi. Text and image copyright Helena Nelson – Reed. Do not use without written permission.
Late afternoon at Port Willunga South Australia. Looking out towards the setting sun through the remains of the Old Jetty structure. Not overly sure about the colours here, strange evening with orange red clouds and just dark enough to get a slight amount of motion in the foreground. Canon 400D, 18 -55 lens, CIR Polarising filter coupled with an ND4. Wet legs and a wet tripod, standing out in the water trying to avoid waves!!!!!!
Surfing just before dawn. The water color comes from the dawn light reflecting off high clouds in the sky. Canon 1Ds Mark II / 600 mm focal length / 1/15 second / f/4 / ISO 50 Panning and trying to keep the surfer in one spot in the frame produces the fluidity and quality to the water.
Here is a sunset capture with my two boys. They are very close and are not only brothers but best friends and love doing everything together :o)
Late evening, bold sky and silhouetting the remains of the old Port Willunga jetty, Port Willunga, South Australia. A favourite spot for photographers and it is rare to visit on a night without running into others with cameras!!! Canon 400D 18-55 lens with CIR Polarising filter. Converted in Photoshop CS3.

Surfer waiting in the lineup at the crack of dawn, I guess the title says it all
A group of ducks fly by in the dawn and captured with a panned slow shutter speed exposure near the breakwater of Santa Barbara, California. Canon 1Ds Mark II / 600 mm focal length / 1/10 second / f/8

Sky reflected in the water as the sun sets, Venice Beach CA
This was captured after a rain storm, while we were on holidays at Lorne. The sky lit up as though it was on fire, with the clouds reflecting the late afternoon sun and the resulting water lying on the pier also mirrored the sky and the couta boat, docked there.
Dawn at Jan Juc Beach, on the Great Ocean Road.
This was a case of right place at the right time. This picture doesn’t actually do the sunset justice. It had to be seen to be believed, and of course, I was with my cousin and not my Fiance!
Sea urchins are small, spiny sea creatures of the class Echinoidea found in oceans all over the world. The name urchin is an Old English name for the round spiny hedgehogs sea urchins resemble. Their shell, which is also called the “test”, is globular in shape and covered with spines. The size of an adult test is typically from 3 to 10 cm. These urchin ‘tests’ were being sold alongside some large clam shells. Sold a Mounted Print on RedBubble to a Mystery buyer.
