Inspired by the journeys of the heart through dreaming. This illustration is an exploration into outside influences on the heart specifically when ones eye’s are closed, when the resonance of the day echoes through the night. I’m interested in elements that stir the emotions including music, relationships and even the weather outside your bedroom window; All influencing the fluctuations of the heart. This illustration began with some pressed flowers, a rough pencil sketch and pen and then finished off with photoshop.

/ I used candlewax, few different sized black marker pens, retractable pencils, charcoal white and black, ink and pastels on a small piece of timber to create “Happiness Always”......and that’s what I wish for everyone…. happiness always it could be for a newborn baby, just cheer someone who’s a little sad, or for a birthday ~ wishing someone happiness always is just a nice thing to do any time of the year :)

I love to shoot fall colors right after the rain; the moisture saturates the colors, and makes them POP. On days like this I never get in a hurry while making that trip to town, for shopping or work. / Medium Size Print/Cherry Frame/Off White Matt Watercolour crayons, watercolour pencils, faber castell pencils, ink, acrylic, wax, gesso acrylic, chalk pastel, pen, charcoal on paper This began as a drawing while on holiday at an island resort, it’s one of those paintings that seemed to have a mind of it’s own, and wanted to be painted a certain way…even though I had different ideas, this is the end result. LOL I was originally going to colour her very gently with wax and soft pastels…but she became more and more vibrant as I went along. Perhaps the colouring says something of how vibrant we become when we are well rested, balanced and relaxed.

A party that celebrates all that life has to offer,both the good and not so good :D She’s wearing her new flower feather clips and a ribbon belt to adorn her waist. All who read this will be invited! A belief that Life is to be celebrated, not just the ups but the downs too. It is easier to give thanks and rejoice when things go well for us but can we still do the same when things dont turn out the way we want them to? In dry or in bountiful times, I keep reminding myself to count my blessings…to adopt the mindset of abundance and not of scacity. The state also acquired Rainbow Springs State Campground, located nearby, which was formerly privately owned. From the campground, you can tube or canoe the crystalline waters of Rainbow River, or fish for large mouth bass and other freshwater species. / A nature trail provides a lovely walk past two waterfalls and the azalea gardens, and meanders along the Rainbow River. Beauty Of A Thorn This well-known thistle is a true nightmare to all the local farmers. At one point I think there was even a law passed saying that people could be fined if it was found growing unchecked on their property. / It is such an invasive plant that it will take over an entire pasture or field, and farm animals won’t/can’t eat it, so it’s a problem even in the hay. / On the other hand, its a true blessing for the many butterflies that migrate through this area, and it provides much-needed food and energy for the pretty creatures that have long flights ahead of them. / I have also noticed that hummingbirds love it as well. Being a photographer, I do love its exotic blooms and the many photo opportunities it provides. / The sad but true thing is, the only way to control it is to destroy it completely! It’s amazing that something so beautiful and so useful for the nectar lovers, is also such a thorn in the side for the farmers. / Photo taken along a road side in NW Arkansas, USA. Worn Rabbit is an extension from the original series of 9 Animal Designs that are 4” x 4” canvas blocks that I created at end of 2007. I’ve utilised the selected pink or acrylic from the original series and inks on a distressed photo that I took and printed out on paper from one of my many sketch pads. The animal design series represents what we could be left with if we don’t take care of nature and all it’s creatures. With their charming toy like appearance, they could just end up like childhood memories.

She was being so gentle with the pigeons, and was oblivious to all around her. This was taken in St Marks Square, Venice on a Winter’s morning. Created from the original photograph, a textured background, two different scratch brushes and then a lomo/cross processing layer for colour effect. / The corners were burnt in to create interest. The photographs from our European trip have all lended themselves to being grunge or texture processed, due to the dull winter colours and rain. I think it gives the viewer an idea of how it felt to actually be there. Featured in Red Bubble Home Page
