  • (Embankment, London). / This poor man seemed oblivious to the shower we had just had and the heavens that were about to open. Then again, maybe that was the least of his worries. I felt a bit guilty taking this shot and have never taken candid shots of others before, let alone without asking. I took it very quickly (as you can tell) and moved on. Initially I was disappointed with the taxi in the background but it almost seems fitting to show the contrast between him going nowhere right now and life whizzing passed without him even noticing. I’m now in the warm at home and probably about to have a little G&T soon… I wonder where he is or what he’s doing right now. Featured in Candid Photography

  • In the background a young couple get it on. Taken at the Alhambra, Granada, Spain. / Caon EOS 300D 28-135mm

  • to the fact that he was sitting in the foyer of Adelaide’s Festival Theatre, Connor (7)decided that he had to play his guitar just once more that day!! At least we know he won’t suffer from stage fright!

  • George W. Bush aka Captain Oblivious is flying through the air.

  • ‘He Always Turns his Back on Me’ says the brother of the prodigal son, says the movie goer who stalks her crush, says the middle-child, says the jilted lover, says the ventriloquist LIMITED EDITION OF #20

  • Borneo fishermen gambling their wages on the wharf at the end of the day. Nearly oblivious to anything else…including a photographer, these guys are just keen to have a chance to win back their losses.

  • Taken from the Exhibition series Decay+Time=Beauty

  • It’s 1pm in London’s Piccadilly. The surroundings have a hint of affluence, the writing on the carrier bag states, “sound mind, sound body”

  • George W. Bush as a Chimpanzee.

  • With all the commotion of the 5k and 15k races, over 4000 people perusing booths and chowing down on free grub, plus being in a hospital where they are fighting to save the lives of many premature babies… I found this guy passed out on a chair in the “dome” entryway. After seeing all the tiny human beings clinging to life in the ICU unit, I was just amazed someone could be sleeping. • There is always some one in the group that doesn’t have any idea as to what is going on. He he eh, and that’s probably me.

  • Here is our Tryner yes it is winter you can’t see it but there is ice all over the banks snow and the water is very cold but can we keep her out of it not a chance Throw the stick Marc!!!! She has such intensity that I have never seen in another dog. I love the water splashes in this one but most of all the look on her face. Thats our girl Tryn!!!!!! / Fresh out of the camera Nikon D40 18-200mm lens

  • Featured in Alaska ~ Beyond Your Dreams Feb. 20, 2009 / Humpy – pink salmon – jumps out of the freshwater lagoon next to this seemingly oblivious Great Blue Heron. / Photo taken in Ship’s Cove in Conclusion Bay… which is around the corner by boat or thru the woods on foot from Port Alexander, Alaka. I’d gone on foot for this visit. / In Ship’s Cove is this little freshwater lagoon that is cut off from saltwater at anything less than a pretty high tide. The high tides had let these humpies actually get into the lagoon… ya shoulda seen my face when they started jumpin… couldn’t figure out WHAT in the heck they were at first cause they shouldn’t be in there and haven’t seen them in there before… at first I thought it was weird that NOT only were there BIG trout in there but that they were jumpin!!

  • Crown Casino complex, Melbourne Nikon D300, 18-200 lens

  • Young people’s paraphernalia certainly looks like a safety hazard when crossing streets or using stairs… Smoke in the eyes, music blasting in the headset, and attention focused on the cellphone, exchanging text messages. Completely oblivious to their surroundings… are they getting disconnected from the world around them? This shot was made in response to our good friend Shawn who challenged us to take a sneaky pic of a person(s) without their knowledge , adding that it should be made from a low angle. I was really sneaky for this one because the stairway was just beside the lobby of a building. I went inside and found that I had this great POV thru the side window, and no one could see me shooting to my heart’s content! The ambiant light was low though, so it’s a bit grainy. Click here to see EVERYONE’s responses to Shawn’s challenge. Here is another shot I made for the same challenge:

  • Festus was so interested in spotting lizards that he didn’t even realize that his tail was in the water. This happens ALL the time and it always makes me laugh!

  • Everyone was watching the great performance offered by some members of the Cirque du Soleil, in the Old Port of Montreal. Everyone… except this couple, too enthralled by each other to take notice of their surroundings. It seems that love can sing louder than a crowd. Played a bit with the late afternoon light in Photoshop to isolate the couple from the crowd just a little more. Focal length 200 mm / ISO-200 / Aperture f/8 / Shutter 1/100 sec.
