I have her on a black tshirt under the name ‘Little Kimino Blue’ but she isn’t actually wearing a kimono, although she wears an obi…...Asia Blue is wearing a mixed costume, half chinese half japanese…...so I will just call her ‘Asia Blue’ for ease ….as there has been quite a bit of confusion over this :) I wanted to have ‘Asia Blue’ on other coloured tshirts, as well as the black, so here she is, more coming soon !

He just looks so proud and so content that it would be hard NOT to take his picture. He was a very talkative cat and usually was very curious of the things going on around him. / All proceeds from the sale of this photograph will be donated to Noah’s Lost Ark Sanctuary for the care and feeding of the various critters that reside there. I thought I had brainwave – a stroke of genius when I thought of this! I discovered later loads of people have had the same idea. Someone even goes by that name. She wears a little lotus on her head, symbolic of her royal status and the lotus symbolises strong and lasting affection. Around her feet are tiny white pebbles …...she is surrounded by water, on a golden pond…you can see her reflection (i used silver cardboard for the backdrop and ground) Once the Chunkies are created and photographed, I usually dismantle them to be used in the creation of more chunkies, so I am recycling the plasticine. These Chunkies have been very therapeutic to create over the holidays, whilst taking a break from red bubble and having my family around. I have many more to come, and although I won’t be on RB as much, I hope to also be doing some serious painting this year…so i look forward 2009 with much anticipation …

/ (Mocha timber frame/off white matt/medium size) / Greeting Card hand drawn on paper / digital painting Legend of Little Geisha / art and story by K Taylor (4/09) In the village of Ishekawa by the Sea of Japan lived a poor couple who wove and carved for a living. The couple had no real possessions but were content with the beauty of the mountains and the sea surrounding them, and happy to be together. The only thing they wished for and did not yet have, was a child to call their own. One day, an ancient crone visited their home and as always, the couple offered their hospitality, gave her rice cakes and sake to warm her belly. The old crone, in return for their kindness, bestowed upon the couple the ability to have a girl child. The child grew from a seed into a strong and beautiful young woman, glowing with pride and joy, she was the delight of Ishekawa by the Sea of Japan, and many young suitors came to visit and pay her homage. But as is the way with old crones, you can never quite trust them to do you a favour without some twist in the tale. Unfortunately, the seed from which the child grew, began to sprout roots, and she was bound to the earth. In time the beautiful young girl became a majestic tree and all the birds from near and far came to perch and nest in her branches, she gave them shelter from the wind and rain, and everyone who knew the legend realised the tree was actually the Little Geisha. / here’s the drawing (above) prior to being digitally coloured
