IThe “race” speech Barack Obama gave in Philadelphia is bound to be one of the greatest speeches given in our American history. I can imagine future generations of school children quoting his words and phrases for years to come. I wanted to display part of Barack Obama’s speech along with his vision for America.

Game between the old government and the new candidates. / The shape of this frame and putting nine images together i have used quite often in my artworks. There is a bit different version for dark shirts as well. In this shop you can find different models, colours and the backside printed with logo and instruction. And some others…

Barack Obama has become an icon, in the sense that the image of Obama himself has become a symbol for the hopes his supporters. Barack Obama represents the effort to overcome the politics of fear with the ideals of hope and change. As such, Barack Obama is a symbol for the transition away from the excesses of the Bush White House, as well as the effort to diminish today’s democratic process into a recreation of past political battles. With this sketch of Barack Obama on your shirt, you will deliver multiple messages of positive, progressive activism without having to say a word.

Barack Obama is a voice for a new generation of national leadership that reorients our attention to the potential of diplomacy, to the threats of global estrangement, to bridges hitherto unforseen that link seemingly disparate ideas, peoples, nations. In this sense Barack Obama looks forward. Yet Barack Obama also has a historical quality to him. He is a classic statesman, a leader who would look at home in aged newsprint or an old newsreel. Barack Obama stands astride yesterday, today and tomorrow in his presentation of self and his charge to the country. I have tried to capture the history of the now that Obama writes whenever he speaks with this sketched portrait, choosing sepia tones to express his timeful timelessness and sending his gaze to something bright beyond the page. Barack Obama brings shades of nuance to politics, and so I’ve sketched him in various shades (and at times no shade at all).

just took a political science class. That on top of 8 years of republican bullshit combined with 8 months of this democratic party super-delegate bullshit has totally left me jaded to the entire political process. / I cant buy all this hype. All politicians are tools for their parties. All politicians play Washington games. Thats how politics works and has always worked. Its politics. Its not virtuous. (sp?) You cant make it virtuous. You cant sit at home watching tv and telling yourself “he/she seems like the right guy for the job. He’ll/She’ll get us out of this mess”. Its up to us as a people to get ourselves out of this mess and stop putting so much power into the hands of so few over and over again and expecting different results. thats my little rant. God bless America. p.s. – i got the text from “The Modern Prince” by Carnes Lord. A great book. I reccomend it. We also read “The Stillborn God” by Mark Lilla. A history of political theology. Also a good read.

Okay, so the story behind that odd saying … Our school’s business teacher, and in this case, my web design teacher, hates Hillary with an extreme passion [sorry hillary fans] and so we did this class voting on who would most likely be president. A majority of the class voted Obama, and when we finished tallying up the votes, our teacher just screamed out, “OBAMA MAH MOMMA!” It was priceless. Especially with a Texan accent no one could forget. / Dedicated to Coach May!
