  • We have this dear friend Dorothy, who for some crazy reason has never received a painting of mine. / She mentioned this to me a few weeks back. / It is hard to believe, because I mostly give my paintings away to friends and family. / Rarely is there a sale!! :( / Anyway,,,, I told her to go to www.myspace.com/whitedovestudio and let me know which painting she would like to have. / And if it iwas available I would be happy to give it to her. / Well,,,, of all my paintings to choose from, / she responded with “Standing Proud” / text can be linked“ / “Standing Proud” was not for sale or for “give-away” I told her. / I asked her why she chose that…. / I seems that her dad (now deceased) was a steel worker who worked on “The Twin Towers”. / He was one of the few men who erected the antenna on the Second tower. / She is so proud of her dad and said he is “rolling over in his grave” over what had happened on 9/11. / I usually do not like to re-make a painting as it usually just doesn’t feel right… / This is an exception…. / Dorothy…. This is for You and Your Dad (RIP) / With much love ….. / and as always / Aloha’ / KJ / Acrylic on Wood / ORIGINAL NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE /
