Woman with nest and wing. Photo based illustration.
Mother and twin children
The Celtic symbol for the Triple Goddess of Maiden, Mother and Crone. The eternal Maiden within, full of promise and hopes to come; the innocent child with the ability to see with clarity and purpose; and, the virgin self. Gaia, the Mother within, giving birth to seeds conceived by the maiden; nourishing growth to nurture ideas and projects. The love of the Mother is always within through pain, joy, tears and laughter deeply in your heart. The wise Crone within, full of the ageless wisdom of nature, barren, yet beautiful whilst holding the keys to the underworld and understanding the mysteries of death. I am change, sacrifice and transformation representing both death and birth in infinite wisdom. All three of these qualities are within every female to call upon when necessary. / Drawn with pen and ink, photographed and edited in photoshop7 with Redfield plug-in fractilius highlights. / / nurture / The act of nourishing or nursing; tender care; education; training; That which nourishes; food; diet; The environmental influences that contribute to the development of an individual; see also nature; to nourish or nurse / en.wiktionary.org/wiki/nurture Media – pencil and photoshop / Substrate – paper I can’t explain this, ‘cept to say, it’s inspired by our connection with nature and the fragility of life itself sometimes, the message coming through is to nurture life by way of fostering goodwill toward one another and accepting we have a duty of care to our natural world also. Because Easter is approaching I thought it appropriate :) The child’s sustenance, or umbilical cord if you like is coming from a tree, symbolic of the healing that nature can bring….the new life and growth that comes with nurture both of spirit and of nature. Humility is understanding our rightful place in the scheme of all things, including nature, family structure and the wider community…... a world where there is tolerance for all, is the one i pray for
I watched two of this little robin’s siblings leave the nest pretty readily, but this last one seemed to require a little extra encouragement. Maybe it was because after the other’s had fledged, Mom and Dad brought back about seven worms and there was no competition left for those worms.
