“Love me tender, such my Love / Love with all your might / Touch me tender, such my Love / Love me through the night.” / – Leni Kae An attraction to this piece tells of your desire for an intellectual connection with a partner. For the most part, intellectual stimulation is a prerequisite for attraction; and for the sensuality and passion that follows. It is when you meet your match in intellect that you are likely most comfortable and grounded. It also tells of the need for self-love, emracing all qualities within the self, in order to receive the love that you deserve. Pastel drawing, collage, photo and Apophysis layers a longing for your arms layers of silence one after another / peeling the onion – waiting for you / in the stillness of reverie there is only surrender / I open my fist to let you come through how many times can I come to this water / ask the same question – feel the same pain / and how many times can I come to surrender / and ask that the water will take me again it’s an old returning – the lesson still to be learned / and in the ache of separation a longing for your arms / a longing for your arms no other lover could be so familiar / no other lover / could touch me like you / until that moment of total surrender / no other lover will do but you it’s an old returning – the lesson still to be learned / and in the ache of separation / a longing for your arms / a longing for your arms / a longing for your arms
Charcoal drawing, photo and Apophysis layers Gaia – she is rising they shovelled her screams into the pit of silence / and told her nothing was wrong / but she is waking they told her beauty was skin shaven clean / and denuded her of her undergrowth / but she is remembering encased in her corset of asphalt, they dressed her / in roads and cities for their pleasure / but she is rising she is rising like the mist on a clear, cold morning / millennia of sleep fall away from her like grieving / in the light of her regard nothing keeps its meaning / Gaia – she is rising

Pastel drawing and Apophysis overlays Under the wave it is altogether still, / Alive and still, as nourishing as sleep, / Down below conflict, beyond need or will, / Where love flows on and yet is there to keep, / As unconstrained as waves that lift and break / And their bright foam neither to give or take. from The return of Aphrodite by May Sarton

Watercolor and pencil on illustration board, / 15×20 / 2009 Related work: / The Waterman: Unio Mystica This is the second panel of The Waterman triptych. While the central panel represents the Christ as the macrocosm, the side panels are the microcosm, represented by the Four Elements and their manifestation in the physical world. Ignis Aeris is the yang pillar, the elements Fire and Air. Volatile and oriented upward, these elements are connected to the realms of the abstract thinking and intuition. Fire is the energy, passion and primeval instincts, that need to be balanced by the intellect (Air) in order to manifest in a most constructive way. The certainty of the Divine, that comes from the heart and from a primal knowledge, needs to be shaped by the intellect in order to become less aggressive and to expand (the butterflies rising from the fire and flying upward). Only through a perfect combination of faith and reason we can access the Divine and understand Its Laws. At the basis of the picture, handling the creative power of Fire, we see the Magician of the Tarot, which I represented wearing the skin of Nemean Lion, just like Greek hero Herakles. He represents the first step in the Hero’s Journey, or that path that each one of us need to find out and go through in order to become Whole with the Universe. The Magician is the one who uses his power of will (Fire) and mental skills (Air) in order to find his own path.
