  • This is one of my most loved pieces. It is a very popular art work, and I could never part with it, so I’ve decided to sell it as prints and t-shirts. / It was painted with acrylic on canvas. The original is approximately 13(cm)x18(cm). / It was painted on 14 July 2006. This was my first attempt at a vintage nude! I am a great fan of vintage nude art work; photography and paintings. • A pencil drawing.

  • “Soft, light, feel the emotion flow around you – put your back to the darkness and face the light.” This is a dramatic and striking nude, a dark and emotive piece that invites prolonged viewing and conversation. It is bold and contemporary with a lovely sketcherly aspect. The colors are rich, tawny and dark with a splash of color that draws the eye. This piece is Oils on Canvas painted in one of my classic signature washed techniques. The dress is glazed in traditional oil painting technique so that it glows and leaps off the canvas. This piece is so rich and warm with a lot of depth and subtlety, sweeping curves and beautiful soft lines. The canvas is used as an element in this painting lending it’s texture to the overall work. The colors are warm, sensual with a wonderful tonal quality. It is signed Jennie on the front.

  • This piece is telling of a subconscious need for renewal and direct expression, and the use of relaxation activties for both restoration as well as escape. The challenge is to think about the physical self, and to express the energy relevant to the present. It is telling of a time to let go and simply enjoy. • On Zazzle / On DeviantART Won a Today’s Best Award on Zazzle (second page, bottom row) Closeup of a picture I’m workng on – I liked this bit on its own, and I wanted to show a closeup on the details anyway. Very Sandman and Neil Gaiman inspired (specifically, the Endless – Mostly Death, but also Dream, Destiny and Desire), but not actually OF them. Some personal stuff in there – some emotional imagery, some pretty details that mean nothing. / The pain of caring and protecting something beautiful that feeds on you and hurts you. The paleness of being only a shadow compared to another’s light and glory. The power of darkness and being unknown, and the restraint possessed and never seen. And I just had a completely different idea for the background… Anyway, the full picture’s up to fours hours at the moment (and hasn’t been touched for awhile…), this bit… was maybe two hours. • “Mem’ries light the corners of my mind / Misty water-colored mem’ries of the way we were / Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind / Smiles we gave to one another for the way we were. / Can it be that it was all so simple then / Or has time rewritten every line / If we had the chance to do it all again, tell me, would we, could we / Mem’ries may be beautiful and yet / What’s too painful to remember we simply choose to forget / So it’s the laughter we will remember / Whenever we remember the way we were.”
