  • This is a 4 second exposure of spring melt water in a very popular spot in Glacier.

  • Taken from the Snake River overlook in Grand Teton National Park, Wy. The tallest peak, The Grand Teton, was stuck in the clouds for most of the day. It only peaked through for a minute right as the sun was setting behind it. / ........ / All images are © Nolan Nitschke. You may not use this image in any way without written consent from artist. • Inside Natural Arch, Gold Coast hinterland. Haven’t been up here for awhile and the last I heard this spot was closed(like a lot of nat. park trails on the coast) due to being unstable. When i was young and foolish, this was a popular spot to jump through in summer

  • I ventured up to Mountain Lagoon in the Blue Mountains of NSW today to head into the exquisite Wollemi National Park to check out the sights.. / The national park is the 2nd largest national park in NSW and is home to the famous Wollemi Pine that has existed since prehistoric times. The Wollemi National Park is located about 129km northwest of Sydney.. / The blue tinge to the mountains in the distance comes from the gases given off by the eucalyptus trees and is what gives the mountain ranges their name. This particular shot is an HDR comprised of 7 shots taken from the top of a cliff looking west over the mountain ranges towards an oncoming storm. • Photo taken at the Grand Teton National Park Wyoming An ethereal mountain landscape where jagged peaks tower more than a mile above the Jackson Hole valley, Grand Teton National Park is located in northwestern Wyoming just south of Yellowstone National Park and just north of the town of Jackson. Visitors can reach the park through U.S. 191. The park’s mountain range is very popular among climbers, hikers and photographers. The Tetons are a prime example of fault-block mountain formation. When the earth’s crust cracked along a fault millions of years ago, the Tetons rose into the sky. The exposed crystalline rocks give these mountains their dramatic appearance in any season. The Grand Teton rises to 13,770 feet above sea level and 12 other peaks reach above 12,000 feet elevation. Photo taken by Canon IXUS

  • These falls are really big, they dwarf the other falls in Mt Field by such a long way, I did take a picture of my mate about 15 meters away from them and could hardly see him in the shot he looked so small. Talking was close to impossible because of how loud they were, and so much spray was coming from the falls it was really hard to get a shot without water getting on the lens, it took a little off track walking, so these aren’t able to be seen by the public, which is strange because they are by far and away the most impressive. It took a 10mm lens to get them all in and some distance back.

  • Just over 4000 years ago the building of the great pyramids of Egypt began. The last time Willandra Creek water ran this channel into Lake Mungo was not twice as long ago as that, but probably 4 times as long ago! / Aboriginals were fishing and camping here 12 times as long ago as when the pyramids were being built. / The last 50000 years have been a period of many changes. / The oldes recorded cremation in the world has been found here, at Lake Mungo. It’s still called lake Mungo but these lakes dried 18000 years ago. This site was added to the World Heritage list in 1981 in recognition of its Aboriginal heritage and the evidence of past climates preserved in its landscape.

  • Published in DIGITAL PHOTO magazine. There exists a whole row of abandoned buildings along Mormon Row, a phtotgraphic delight, if you don’t mind sharing it with a whole bunch of other photographers ! Deservedly popular , backed up as it is by the amazing Teton mountain range. The town of Jackson is nearby. / The Mormon people were evicted when the National Park was created. I decided to give this the HDR and Orton treatment, to bring out the texture of the wood, and add a little drama to the scene. Shot on my Canon EOS 40D,mounted on tripod, polarising filter, iso 100, f22, 1/30 sec, cloudy WB, RAW file, processed in Photomatix, with further adjustments in PS CS3, and a little Orton applied. Finished with LAB colour to oomph it up a bit !
