This was taken at Oaklawn Zoo in Aylesford, NS. The leopard was pacing back and forth so much I had to follow his movements with the camera as the picture was taken. / ______________ / Check out more of my art from these categories: / Holiday Cards / Abstracts / Sketches / Birds / Seascapes/Landscapes/Sunsets / / / ______________ /
This was a case of right place at the right time. This picture doesn’t actually do the sunset justice. It had to be seen to be believed, and of course, I was with my cousin and not my Fiance!
Peggy’s Cove is one of the most photographed locations in the world located in Nova Scotia, Canada. This tiny inlet boasts some spectacular scenery including huge glacial rocks, a tiny village of 40 inhabitants, and particularly the lighthouse. / The crashing Atlantic Ocean surf on these lovely rocks is fabulous.
This is the Father of the singer in my band, Under Pressure. The band was invited to the singer’s family reunion and I took this shot of her Father while he was playing on their front porch. This was my favorite shot from that day. / / GET FREE REDBUBBLE GIFT CERTIFICATES / For every $50.00 worth of my artwork or T-shirts that you purchase on RedBubble, I will give you a $5.00 RedBubble gift certificate that you can use for future purchases on RedBubble. The fall colours in Nova Scotia can be so beautiful. This picture was taken from a spot in West Pennant called Hospital Hill. Hospital Hill is a couple of miles back in the woods but well worth the hike! When you climb to the top of the hill the views are spectacular, ocean in one direction and hills in the other.
I am most proud of this shot so far in my short time doing photography. This image incorporates my passionate nature with my love of the ocean. I used to lobster fish with my Dad and so the ocean holds a lot of dear, and not so dear LOL, memories for me. I almost froze my hands off doing this. It was snowing a little while before I took this shot so you can imagine close to the water, with a breeze, how cold it was. However, in the name of love and romance, anything goes! LOL
Taken on a very cold day at White Point Beach, Nova Scotia Canada. My then Fiancee now wife wrote this in the wet sand, and I took the shot. I thought this might make a nice Valentine’s Day card. This image has taken on new meaning for me now. My Mother had been in the hospital for a little over a week. We knew she was on her deathbed. She had suffered for many years with a number of serious chronic health issues, the most debilitating being COPD – a chronic lung disease which had her housebound and connected to oxygen 24-7. Well this morning (Feb. 15, 2009) she passed away peacefully. The reason this image is special to me now is that it was featured on the Homepage here on RedBubble just hours before she passed away. In my heart I feel that she had something to do with it. This was her way of telling me she loves me for one last time since this image prominently features the words “I LOVE YOU” in the sand. God Bless you, Mum! / / GET FREE REDBUBBLE GIFT CERTIFICATES / For every $50.00 worth of my artwork or T-shirts that you purchase on RedBubble, I will give you a $5.00 RedBubble gift certificate that you can use for future purchases on RedBubble. This is an image of my brother-in-law’s dog, Buzz, blended into a sunset over Long Cove only about a half a mile away from his home in West Pennant, Nova Scotia, Canada. Buzz is a Springer Spaniel and a sweetheart of a dog. Everyone loves Buzz. For those who may be curious, Buzz is still alive and kickin’! It will be a sad day for all of us when he is gone. / / Tears In Heaven is available in all print formats offered by redbubble. / / / / Buying Tears In Heaven as a gift? A light fixture in a green room of an abandoned building.
Re-work of an image removed previously. / Removed the darn tourist photographer who was in the shot, then darkened it a little. Hope you like it. Taken September 2007.
This is a macro of the inside of a flower, but please don’t ask me which one because I have no idea what it was. LOL Scott said it looked like candy corn so the name was born. Candy corn for those of you that don’t know is a rocket ship shaped candy that is three different colours; red, yellow, and white I do believe. For those of you that may wonder, I did not manipulate this photo in any way other than to crop a bit off to get this to RB dimensions.
Dawn this morning on my favorite island. I am visiting Cape Breton for the Celtic Colours International Festival. So far I have seen two wonderful shows, Pipers’ Ceilidh at St Ann’s Gaelic College with pipers from Scotland, Cape Breton, and Cuba and opening night show Common Ground: A Celtic Journey featuring Carlos Nunez from Spain as well as many musicians from Cape Breton, Scotland, Ireland, and Cuba (I guess there are celtic roots there too!). Tonight’s show is Anull gu Aiseag Mhira (Over to Mira Ferry). Inverness Gaelic Choir will be there from Scotland and Cape Breton’s own – Mary Jane Lamond, Wendy MacIsaac, Mairi Rankin, and Patrick Gillis. But the scenery….... is out of this world, and I know I can not do it justice!
