This is the drive into the Hexgrave Hall Estate. Called this Little Lime Tree Drive as it is not too far from Clumber Park where there is the country’s finest and longest Lime Tree Avenue. Sony Alpha A200 – 18mm

The old Sewage Pump House in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. soon as I win the lottery I buy this place and make this into one smart house :)
Taken on a freezing cold February morning. I headed to Sawley Marina in Nottinghamshire. I waited as the sun began to rise right from behind the cooling towers of Ratcliffe Power Station. With the reflection in the river Trent below and the steam from the towers looking more like fire. It was an incredible moment.
On my way to work during the early hours of the morning. I decided to call in at Trent Lock along the way. Ratcliffe Power Station could be seen from miles around with it’s large plumes of steam billowing from the cooling towers. Upon arrival you could easily see these plumes reflected in the river Trent below.
An image of a stunning winter sunrise taken as the golden dawn light illuminated the fine mist through the trees on Lime Tree Avenue, Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire – part of the original Sherwood Forest.

This is straight from the camera. It stands AS IS The other night I was going through my archive of shots and I came across a number of shots that I want to upload (if I ever get around to it) but I found one here that I really must share. This is a lovely rural scene after a generous covering of snow. The roads were a bit slippery getting down the country lane to the church where I took this and a few other shots. This little lane lies to the side and behind the church in the village of Upton, Nottinghamshire, in England (not far from the market town of Southwell). What struck me was the contrasts of the wood and the gravestones just over the fence, and the white snow. The day had mostly been overcast with more snow showers on their way, but at the moment and time of this shot, the late afternoon sun was peeking through the clouds and casting this beautiful pinkish haze in the sky and on the fence, bringing to life the lovely rural colours. Perhaps I was a bit inspired by the scene to resemble one of my favourite Christmas songs, “Walking in a winter wonderland”. I can just imagine a sleigh and a horse travelling down this path!
