  Tired of copying and pasting the same text in multiple forums,e-mails,descriptions etc.. back and forth between notepad and firefox. Here is a shortcut helper that will save you time and keep everything at your mouse (finger) tips / This Time saver works mainly for FireFox users but can be used with Internet Explorer with limited capabilities. You can get Firefox below if you like. / I use this time saver for when I’m uploading new works to my bubble and want to post my contact links, banner and other items into the new image description box. Although there are other uses for doing this such as keeping links to smileys, images, your bubblesite etc. Firefox / Step 1 Create a “New Folder” on the “Bookmark Toolbar” / To do this right click the bookmarks toolbar and select “New Folder” / name it “Notepad Files” then click “Add” / If you do not see the toolbar right click the toolbar area and select the “bookmarks toolbar” / Step 2 Open “Notebook” (on your PC) / Step 3 In Notepad click “File” then select “Open” / Step 4 Find the file you want to access from your toolbar do not open it just Drag and drop the file in the folder you created in step 1 / Drag and drop all files you wish to have quick access to and your done. Using the Links / Step 1 Click the “Notepad Files” folder in the toolbar / Step 2 Right click the file you want to use select “Open in New Tab” or you can hold the “Ctrl”(control) key and left click / This will open the text file using a Firefox window (Tab) simply copy and paste your text from the page to your text box. Close the tab when you are done. Firefox Bonus If you are using tags to keep track of your images by group but have to many tags to remember. Create a list in notepad and add it to the folder then Right click the link you created and click properties then select the box next to the text / “Load this bookmark in sidebar” then click “save changes” / Doing this will open the notepad file in a little window next to the page you are on and you can copy and paste your tags from the same page. Internet Explorer / Step 1 Click “Favorites” then “Organize Favorites” in the file menu / Step 2 In the window that pops up click the “Links” folder then click “New Folder” / name it Notepad files or what ever you like and press enter. Now select “close” / Step 3 Open “Notebook” (on your PC) / Step 4 In Notepad click “File” then select “Open” / Step 5 Find the file you want to access from your toolbar do not open it just Drag and drop the file in the folder you created in step 2 / Drag and drop all files you wish to have quick access to and your done. Using the Links / Step 1 Open a new tab (Short cut press “CTRL+T”) / Step 2 Click the “Notepad Files” folder on the toolbar and select the file you want to open. / or Click “Favorites” on the file menu the folder labeled “Links” has the “Notpad Files” folder we created in step 2 above / Step 3 copy and paste the text you want from the new tab If you like adding smileys, images etc to your post this one is for you / Note Drag and drop does not work with Internet Explorer FireFox / Access to smileys, images…etc / To have access to you favorite smileys,images…etc can be done as well. / Step 1 Create a folder on the toolbar called “Smileys” or whatever you like. / Step 2 Drag and drop the smileys to the folder from the web or from previous post. This will add the web link of where the smiley is. / Step 3 Rename the link so you know what smiley it is. / To rename, click the smiley folder, right click the smiley web address then select “properties” change the name and click “save changes” / You can also add the ! to the end of the web link, but not the beginning. To use them / Just drag and drop the link from the smiley folder in to the text box add the ! to the address and your done. Internet Explorer / Create a folder like described above but name it images or whatever you like / To add image addresses to them. / Step 1 Open the image in Internet Explorer / Step 2 Drag and drop the image in the folder you created or drag the Icon next to the image address in the address bar. To use them / Step 1 Open a new tab (Short cut press “CTRL+T”) / Step 2 Click the folder you created and added the images to and select the image you wish to use. / Step 3 Copy the address from the address bar and paste it where you want to use it. / Don’t forget to add the ! before and after the image address Bonus Hint You could use a file sync program such as dropbox (free up to 2 gig) to store your Notepad files. So if you use more than one PC like I do it will keep the notepad files updated whenever you change one on either PC.   After posting this journal post regarding journals Michael Bieruts, the author, and there impact on documenting his life and allowing them to release his thoughts, I decided to buy a journal and stick to it. To be frank, it hasn’t worked as I’d hoped it would. The journal I bought, the one I thought I’d use daily, have it sitting beside my desk, show my main focus in life has been barely used passing just five pages in a good month or so. But that’s not what I wanted to share. I have actually started a sketching journal, nothing like the original concept but one that converted from a lined notepad that I was sketching on at random times to a bond notepad and pen(yes, I do mean biro) that I carry with myself constantly. And in the past four weeks I’ve managed to finish off the entire 90 pages with random sketches. Always in this book, always with a low-grade black biro and definitely something that I’m damn happy to say. Here’s a few peeks at some of the drawings: as well as : / / / oh and I have been requested to mention: So as I start down the road of another book I can hope, in all my heart, that it will move along as well as the last.

  So after 3 and a half Notebooks I’m working now on getting some of these on tees and having a look through the old sketches to rework ideas onto A3 paper with markers. I seem to have a few different things running in all these images, varying from giganticism, perspective, anthropomorphic, elephants and balaclavas But I do like the style of sailing boats not found on the sea today, the planes that no longer fly from shore to shore. And the items that you shouldn’t be able to get and never should see in a shop window. but Visual Crash is posting a few more of the images. Have a look.

  I posted this article on the 30th of January after buying a spirex notepad and thinking that I needed to start getting my sketches onto a page, but it wasn’t till a few weeks later on the 7th of February that I bought a black A5 visual diary to try and sketch out what I could see in my head when I wandered, caught a train, had a meeting and all the other such things I walk around doing. And all with the most basic of black ball point pens so I’ve now drawn over 400 sketches, put up a calendar of ideas, had t-shirts, canvases and even had comments while sketching on a late night train(which is both an embarrassment and a buzz). I’ve loaded up a youtube video of sketching and just bought some new stuff to learn how to use indian rubber ink. / So, since been ten months to the day since I started my notepads I’m happy that I’ve kept it going enough to have 7 books filled with ideas and an eighth coming along nicely. For me, I’m just happy that I’ve managed to keep it going this long, but while it does I’ll keep sketching.
