  • The atmosphere is filled with the sound of the sax while the sun goes down in the horizon, a perfect evening for romance

  • Music is one of the best ways to communicate around the world. It is not a language that we need to learn. Everybody has a special song that brings back good, happy, sad or romantic moments The image in the T-shirt is also available as card

  • This was painted in Photo Shop on a blank file set at 300 dpi. This painting is NOT photo generated or photo manipulation. This Is Mitch. He is my creation. He is was born in Venice Italy. His mother is Italian his father… well your just going to have to wait till I get his first chapter written. His family moved to the states , NYC, when he was 6. / After his father died his mother (never very caring in the first place) took off and he was left alone to bury his father at the age of 9. The only thing of value he had was a black Journal. After reading it Mitch finds out he is much more than just human. The continence of the journal was the history of his grandfather. Not wanting what happened to his grandfather to happen to him, Mitch takes to the streets. He spent his time growing up on the streets where he met an old blues player who taught him to play a guitar and sing the blues. That’s how he got money, singing on the streets and in joints. With his deep soulful voice and good looks getting a gig was easy. But it wasn’t enough, not for the life he wanted. / So being Italian… It was easy for him to find “other” work. He had learned to knife fight on the streets and became quite good. Then he hooks up with a small time drug lord and so it begins his true life of crime, soon Mitch becomes the right arm man for one of the biggest Mobsters in NYC…… Later , at the height of his success, just 18 Mitch unknowingly kills the Godfather’s nephew in a jealous rage, now he’s their target. / / Copyright / These Images and Writings Do Not Belong To ANY Public Domain. Hello hello! We’ve just rolled out this weeks release, the highlights include: A real credit card system / You can now pay for stuff with a credit card without having to use PayPal—you can do it all without leaving RedBubble. Previously, this was only available as an option for orders in Australian dollars. PayPal is still an option, of course. Clear GIFs over the larger images / By popular demand! If you really want to discourage people from downloading the larger versions of your images, there’s an option in your profile to do so. Please understand it’s impossible to prevent downloading of images displayed on web pages (they can still do a screen capture, for example), but activitating this feature will make it more difficult. Interesting nerdy sidenote: GIF is pronounced “JIFF”. The pre-loading images experiment / After the main art & clothing gallery pages load, we’re pre-loading the images for the next page in the background, so that when you click “next” the page should load much faster for most people. It’s an experiment, but it seems to be working really well so far. The activity footer experiment / In another experiment, we’re putting the two most recent activity events down above the footer. The theory is that users might accidentally discover new stuff that they may not have found any other way, and we’ll see how that goes. Featured and recent work in the group home pages / We’re showing two rows of both now, instead of one or the other. Also / There’s the usual bug fixes, tweaks, etc. We know we’re a little behind on launching of new groups that have been proposed—please be patient! Enjoy! — Justin & Co

Hello hello, welcome to another RedBubble Thursday. Here’s an update on what’s been released, what’s coming up and what’s going on: Activity Monitor This is still very much a work in progress, so I probably should give you some background information. We think the Activity Monitor is really important to the future of RedBubble. As the site grows, we think it’s going to be more and more important that content comes to you instead of you having to find the content. This means more types of activity events will be sent to you, which also means you’ll probably want to customize your monitor, focusing on the information you want, and ignoring the stuff you don’t need. So we’ve split the Activity Monitor into two groups: “Favorite Feeds”, which will be shown by default “Other Feeds”, for the stuff that you don’t care about too much, but might want to check out from time to time You can move the feeds between the two groups to find the right balance of information for you. Here’s a quick screen shot: It might seem a little overkill right now, but as we add in more and more feeds, I think it’s going to make a huge difference. We’ll also make it easier to organize the feeds (soon-ish) with drag-n-drop, etc. 2009 Calendars We’ve also rolled out a new 2009 Calendar design (all calendars have been automatically updated). Here’s a preview of the cover, February and the new back cover from one of John’s Calendars calendars : They’re still self-purchase only at this stage (which means they can’t be purchased by the general public), but we’ll try and get to that really soon! Pete says “if we sell more than a hundred in June, I’ll buy John a beer”. We think this should be extended to all staff and apply to each batch of 100 calendars, so please, go and buy lots of calendars to keep us all well-hydrated! The Bubble Sites Beta Continues We’ll be inviting a few more testers today, and we’ve made some improvements to the product menu design: The Challenges Beta Continues The Challenge Café Group have been helping us beta test the new challenges interface. It’s going really well, and we’ll probably open up the testing to a few more groups in a week or two after we polish some edges. And… Sets Are Coming Soon! I’m usually really nervous about pre-announcing features, but the #1 feature request right now is sets—the ability to organize or group your work into smaller ‘sets’ or ‘collections’ or ‘folders’ or something. This has been amplified even more now that we’re beta testing the new Bubblesites. We’re still at least a month (or even two) away from releasing them, but I wanted to let you all know that we’re listening, working on it, and really want to get them out ASAP. Etc There’s also the usual swag of bug fixes, tweaks and little things that I’ll let you discover for yourselves! — Justin & all these wonderful people

It’s that time of the week again already, and this week there are two important additions to the site today. Gaia, the book, is now on sale. It looks fantastic, get your copy from the RedBubbble Store. For more information, and a list of those published, please see this post. Even bigger news is that today we have launched a new take on RedBubble’s continued exploration of New Art. We see this art as a move away from art bestowed upon us to art that ultimately embraces all of us as co-equals in its creation and interpretation. The publications ‘In the Moment’ and ‘Gaia’ were part of this exploration. The new work ‘PAX’ is an online Mosaic of 16,384 images from RedBubble artists that aims for a collective beauty that is no greater than any single one of its components. It is an art work that is complete on the Web, fully harnessing the power and potential of this medium in its creation and in its display. Enjoy! - Pilgrim

Hello hello, Today we had a little micro release. I thought the old comment replies looked pretty ugly (hard to read) so our friendly Internet programer type person Russ made them look better. We’ve also released a new checkout screen which we’re testing on a small percentage of all checkouts here. The idea is that we’ll test the new page over the next couple of days to make sure it works for 100% of folks and then release it site wide on Monday. To view the page you’ll need something in your cart. For those of you with an inclination toward t-shirt design a new site-wide challenge was launched a recently: Attention all t-shirt designers. Put down your piña coladas as there will be no January holiday for you this year! The folks at London street wear store Demo were so blown away by the response to the London Calling competition, they want to do it all over again. They’re giving you the chance to get your t-shirt design in their shop window, just by London’s Carnaby Street. Your theme is ‘Sound’. That’s right, the stuff you can hear. The theme is open to wide interpretation so you could choose to cover anything from music through to cochlear implants. You can find out more here Ciao, - Peter

Hello hello, Yesterday we released a new RedBubble … there were three main public changes (and the usual behind the scenes work). We’ve introduced a new larger size canvas (20 by 30 inches). I love canvas prints … and as far as I’m concerned bigger is better! The base price of the Extra Large Canvas is AUD 135, USD 128.25; GBP 60.75 (VAT exc); EUR 87.75 (VAT exc); CAD 128.25. We’ve added some more functionality to the bulk edit feature. Now you can bulk: Change your mark up, change product options, publish, delete and de-publish We’ve also done some work on how we display t-shirts on the website … so they look closer to the physical result. Below is an example (it’s a black on black design by the talented nofrillsart). The first shirt is the old way we displayed shirts – note that it’s very hard to see the black printing. We’ve fixed this so that what is displayed is much closer to the printed t-shirt people receive. Kudos to John for this work. Ciao, Peter P.S. Before I forget, a quick request. We’re finding that a few folks are mistakenly using the ‘writing’ area of the site in the place of the ‘journal’. Here’s what we say about the journal: Your Journal is a great place to communicate with your fans and the people who are interested in your work. People who are watching you will be notified each time you update your Journal. While writing is designed for creative writing … poems, short stores et cetera. Please let’s try to keep the writing section of the site for creative writing so that the creative writing is not swamped with our journal posts.
