Weekend T-Shirt Challenge – Agent Provocateur / Theme: Your vision of the future Myopia is an eye condition also called near- or short-sightedness. Those with myopia see nearby objects clearly but distant objects appear blurred. Sorry to be all doom and gloom, but I see myopia as a metaphor for the way we human animals see with little future foresight. When we look to science and it becomes so big and powerful that we see it first over nature as our path forward, then we begin to badly play at being gods. Then our future becomes most uncertain. Even one of greatest scientists Einstein conceded that humans needed a whole radically new form of thinking if we are to move forward and survive. And I tend to agree. The heart holds the capacity for compassion, nurturing and love. And we always look outside of ourselves. Pack your bags…the end is neigh!

The traditional classic chinese word “ai” (love) consist of the word “xing” (heart) at its core. “Ai Xing” in mandarin means “loving heart”. I have simply highlighted the core word “xing” in red to show the meaning of loving heart. “While some simplified characters were adopted from conventional abbreviated forms that have existed for a long time, the vast majority of the changes made by PRC were “unnatural” such as the removal of the symbol for heart (心) from the word love (愛) into the new character (爱).” (Wikipedia) This word is hand-written by me (using a wacom pen & tablet). This t-shirt design is currently only available from RB. The Black King’s Bishop (The Shaman) / Artist: Simon Sherry / Biography: Danny Descendants of an ancient race, the Shaman have links to the old ways, ways observed before man was the dominant species of the world. The shaman is spiritual overlord of the army and is answerable only to the king. Legend has it the ancestors of the king tricked the shaman – even then a dying breed- to serve him and in doing so bound their loyalty to all kings that followed for all time. / Shaman have become an intricate link in the chain that have evolved into the Armies of the Black Spear and it’s development into the warrior nation it has now become. The Shaman through majik and selective breeding have created the Black Knights, Monoliths, Basilisk and Pawn Spawn / The Shaman does not regret or harbor resentment for things past and is totally loyal to the king and the betterment of the Army of the Black Spear. The Shaman splits itself into two distinct personalities when it enters the battle controlling each body with either side of its brain. Left for Queen – Right for King. Read more of the Shaman here

The Black King-Knight’s Pawn / Artist: Simon Sherry / Biography: Danny Leapers. or Spring Booted Knaves, are notorious for their quick starts into battle. / Like all pawns they are soon abandoned to look after themselves on the field of battle thus giving them firm grounding on the rules of battlefield survival and the road to being a General Knight.

The White Queen-Knight’s Pawn / Artist: Jordan Clarke / Biography: Danny The Equilord and his race, though no match for the White King’s enhanced and magically assisted army were no slouches in battle in their glory days before the rise of the Army of the White Wing and the Equilords amalgamation with it. / History will all show the Equilord as a peaceful and enlightened race but not one to shirk away from a battle if needed to defend itself. / The equine based lifeforms had also the knowledge and capacity to perform quite a few battle tricks of their own and it is these that the White King was so keen to have them as valued allies. / One major battle tactic of the infantry was to create illusions bordering on hallucinogenic, these would include the army morphing into schools of Hippocampus (horse/fish) complete with massive waves forming before it. / This of course was affective as any trebuchet or archery onslaught to the hapless foot soldiers usually facing the field opposite them and cause the opposition to scatter in wild flight.
