  • Jingle Bells Jingle Bells, / Santa’s lost his sleigh, / And where on earth has Santa gone, / In aussie-land today? Snow? In Geelong? In December? / Well, that’s the glory of Infrared!

  • This is Annabella – she loves her home, and feels a strong connection to the tiny town she grew up in. She would love to stay there forever – home is definitely where her heart is!

  • This is the 3rd shot from today’s series of photos from the local grave yard.. I had heard recently that grave yards make a great subject for IR photography, and I personally think I have to agree as I believe that this is my best IR shot so far.. / The cross that you can see behind the headstone in the middle of the shot is the cross that I used as the subject for my So Dark The Con Of Man shot.. / Anyway let me know what you all think and i hope you like it all as much as i do.. Thanks for looking! Uploaded 31/01/2008

  • I was inspired this morning after reading and commenting on Julie Langford’s Post. It made me remember that sometimes the journey – the people you meet, the things you learn along the way – is more important than the destination. So despite the bitter frosty morning I rugged myself up (two thermals are better than one) and set out to greet nature and the day with Sami and my trusty tripod in tow. Turns out The Day had advance warning from Nature that I was coming (I think it was the blue wren who visits me that let the secret out)... and together they turned on an absolutely gorgeous – albeit bloody freezing – show. This is most likely the easiest image I have ever had in post production, the only enhancement it has had is a slight vignette added. For the mist gently rising off the water… the glorious colour… the frost on the reeds… the delicate reflections… the beautiful ray of illuminating light… I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Nature and The Day. Title inspiration from Newton Faulkner’s song “Gone in the Morning” Best viewed LARGE

Strange how the image I intend to make is never the final result. • Popular Wall Art and Greeting Cards (30 day) 2009 03 11 Your image Where my way 2 has been nominated for the prestigous Pay it Forward Group by Natasha Harsh and this is what she said about your image - “It was very difficult to choose my #1 favorite of this artist’s work. Anatas goes beyond his superb technical skills creating masterful photo-paintings,each setting a mood and telling a story. In his hands graphic computer programs are truly equivalent if not surpassing traditional art supplies.” MY NEW POETRY BOOK – The Day Met Itself

  • Pastel on Colourfix sanded paper (burgundy) – 70cm x 50cm There is a radio program in Australia called ‘Macca on a Sunday Morning’, which explores all aspects of this country. There is a segment in it called ‘Why I live where I live’, and it got me thinking about where I live. I did this painting as part of a solo exhibition (‘My Easel and Eye’) which was held in 2005 and this was the first painting that was sold. Yesterday morning was a glorious autumn morning, and I went for my early morning walk. This same area of the bush looked exactly like this painting! Featured in the Landscape Painting group – April 2009 / Featured in Works on Paper – May 2009 / Featured in Contemporary Pastel Painters group – June 2009 / Challenge Winner in ‘Dawn’s Early Light’ challenge in the Mornings & Evenings, Sunbeams & Storms group – June 2009 / Challenge Winner in ‘August Avatar’ challenge in the ‘Live & Let Live’ group – August 2009

  • I had a very short time with the lovely Arnavaz, who came to my studio to be photographed by a couple of friends. They were still at it by the time I arrived home from work, so I managed to grab a few shots with my Canon 5D and lensbaby composer. Seascapes / New Zealand / Infrared / Landscapes / People

I AM ALRIGHT. I have had to go to the Moon for reasons that will soon be apparent. Do not fear, I will be back soon, nothing is changing, all the Rooftop stuff, Things of the Week etc, everything is momentarily in stasis while I fly on my rocket. It’s as if this week has disappeared into a black hole. It no longer exists.** I will be back, PANIC NOT. Regards, Travelling Baxter **please don’t get technical on me here, I clearly don’t know what a black hole really is, or does, or why it does it. Actually I don’t care either I’m afraid.

  • A shot taken on my last bike trip on that wonderful misty morning of Sunday 27th September to the grounds of the country-house Groeneveld near Baarn. This is the same lane where I met the girl with the golden hair some moments later. Many of you will understand that this picture has got a completely new meaning for me in the last three days. I could have chosen a shot with light at the end of the tunnel. And I am pretty sure that there will be light at the end of my present tunnel. So many of you here on RB and also on devArt have written and confirmed that there is a good prospect for continuing my beloved photographic activities after the forthcoming operation. Ever so many thanks to them here too. Still this shot appeals more to me today. The feeling at the moment is one of going from the light to an uncertain future. But I shall venture into that mist. Indeed I am sure there is a lot of good to win by going on. Groeneveld, 27th September 2009, 9.23 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 62 mm / F 13, 1/30, ISO 200
