How did they call it in the Bible? A dale of deep darkness. I walk along the path of my life and the light goes out, the inspiration leaves, the inner voice silences, the passion extinguishes, the energy runs low. Life is like wading through a swamp that almost swallows me completely. I can hardly breathe. It gets darker and darker and I feel fear burning like a ball of fire in my stomach. I am afraid I am doomed, did everything wrong. The light disappears completely. I wonder what is left. Well, I am still there, in a terrible state of mind, but still there. My heart pumps, my lungs breathe. I am still alive. And now it all seems a little bit different. The light is not gone; it is just harder to reach it. But it is there, always there. Still feel frightened, but I have faith again. —-—-—-—-—-—-——- And now it is time to learn the cockpit flows of the Airbus A320 by head and do some serious flying. It can’t always be fun. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-— -Partial self portrait in charcoal and pastel. / -Photolayers. / -Digital freaking.

When I was a young girl, I sang this song in a choir and it has always been meaningful to me. I think we all have storms to weather at times in our lives. The song is a show tune from Rogers and Hemerstein’s 1945 musical, “Carousel” When you walk through the storm / Hold your head up high / And don’t be afraid of the dark / At the end of the storm / There’s a golden sky / And the sweet silver song of the lark Walk on, through the wind / Walk on, through the rain / Though your dreams be tossed and blown / Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart / And you’ll never walk alone / You’ll never walk alone The image was created from two different layered images of the lady with the red umbrella and one additional layer of water on a window. I added the plastic wrap filter to the water on the window layer and adjusted it to my liking. I added texture and brushed in clouds. Additional minor adjustments as needed. All photos used taken with Canon D40.

As we did not have so very many dream-like morning this September – or did I just sleep too long most of the times? -, here is a morning dream shot from last year. I already presented it on my jchanders-gallery with deviantArt before, but I love to show it to you too. / It was taken on my way from Hilversum to the country-house of Groeneveld near Baarn. Going there on bike gives you the possibility to pass through a wonderful bit of forest, one of the best here in the area. / To get the sunbeams like this you have to be early, because they are whiter when they come in later, if they have not disappeared by then altogether. This lovely yellow-orange colour is a matter of the first hour just after sunrise at most. Near Hilversum, 20th September 2008, 8.36 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 55 mm / F 11, 1/30, ISO 400

.... I’m going to save the planet. On this Remembrence day 11.11.09. Sixteen years before each of the two great wars baby boys born were destined to save the world from the enemy when they grew up. Now, we have a different fight and cause! Our hopes rest with young people like Nelson. That his focused gaze is on the future and his childrens future! Look after them & teach them well, they are our only hope. Canon 50D / Canon 28-135 lens

This image currently has been viewed 162 times Featured in Rural Around The Globe on 2 November 2009 Location: Taken last winter at FortWhyteAlive our Nature Center on the southwest edge of Winnipeg, Manitoba,Canada In life, whether you are a plant, an insect, an animal or a human being, there are five basic essential components needed to survive. They are Air, Shelter, Food, Water and Space. Here is a typical shelter that the Aboriginal People used on the prairies many years ago. They were able to assemble it in a day, as they used to follow the bison herds on the prairies. Much of their food, shelter, clothing and tools all came from the Bison. So when the herd moved, so did they. Many of their daily rituals revolved around nature. Example; The Tipi was made using 13 poles. The 13 poles in the tipi represents the 13 full moons we have in a given year….When you enter a tipi you go to the left and circle around in a clockwise direction. This represents the way of the sun…The door of the tipi always faces East, to meet the rising sun. The Aboriginal People relied on the land to survive. It was sacred and they recognized that every living thing was of importance. Plus they only used what they needed. Nothing ever went to waste. A good lesson we SHOULD all be following today. I serve as a volunteer interpreter at the Center, and this is part of the written teachings, as we take the children through their many nature programs. Camera Details: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi, 55mm Lens, Aperture exp 5.6, Shutter speed 1/750, ISO 100 HDR enhanced….Hand held…. blending five exposures…. +2,+1,0,-1,-2 using Photomatix HDR software
