My family and friends were enjoying a few days of skiing and I ventured out in the dark to see what I could locate to photograph. As the sky began to lighten, dead trees emerged from the mist and made the wait in sub zero temperature worthwhile. Image straight from camera with no manipulation.

one particular harebell stood out for me on the border hillside on a lovely day when fellow bubblers Jen Whyte and Heather Croft and I met up for the first time ans went out to play… / :)) Taken with a pocket fuji finepix A500 … these seem pretty common locally in the scottich borders but not i gather everywhere.. :))))

In the last couple of years, I have become quite curious about Buddhism. Last year, I picked up a couple of small books at the Temple of Ten Thousand Buddhas in Niagara Falls (and yes there are really 10,000 buddha statues in this temple!) and had quickly thumbed through them. After my trip to Thailand, my interest has grown and a few weeks back started reading the Complete Idiots Guide to Understanding Buddhism (sounds odd but it’s actually a great starting point!). The ideologies truly resonate with me and I have tried to start applying them to my daily life. That being said, I wanted a Buddha statue as a reminder of those ideologies and so this little man is now a beautiful part of my home.

A very peaceful little spot with a nice view on Kooragang Island in New South Wales. It’s very representative of the wild Australian Bush, but not too far away from the city at all – only 20 minutes to the heart of the city.
