  • Anyone who has walked around Circular Quay will have seen this historic old pub near the ferry buildings. The solid structure has been a part of Sydney for many years. Artist Al Benge has the following to say about his original depiction of this inner city landmark. / “I used a free flowing splatter technique to try and convey the busy atmosphere of this part of Sydney. Old historic buildings are always worth recording, and it was a pleasure to portray the well-established lines of the pub with a casual, almost semi-abstract technique.”

  • A cockatoo, busy foraging amongst the grasses for seeds, in the caravan park at Lorne, on the Great Ocean Road.

  • A young bear with mom looking at all the tourist piled up in the middle of Laurel Creek Road…. one of the biggest problems in the park and especially Cades Cove is people stopping in the middle of the road to take pictures. Due to low light and being hand held I had to use an ISO of 800 to get this shot…imagine the results from the many cell phone shots that were in use also….Black Bear, ursus americanus…Mama’s ear tags were digitally removed if anyone wants the shot with them in, please let me know….Shot was taken in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park…noise may be visible on larger prints……Black bears in the park are wild animals, caution should be use in approaching them…The bear in Cades Cove are a little more tolerable to people than these would be. Those in the cove see 1000’s of people daily. People thinking that because they got close to one in the cove, they could anywhere in the park. Mama bear did a false charge to some that were trying to approach them a few minutes after this shot….Those in the cove and elsewhere can kill you. A young child was mauled in the park this year as he bent over to play in the water..To the bear he probably looked like a small deer…

  • Norwich Cathedral Church of the Holy and Undivided Trinity, East Anglia, UK 52° 37′ 55″ N, 1° 18′ 4″ E Featured in the Eastern England Group Text Courtesy of Wikipedia © / The structure of the cathedral is primarily in the Norman style, having been constructed at the behest of Bishop Herbert de Losinga between the late 11th century and about 1145. The total length of the building is 461 feet (140 m). Significant alterations from later periods include a 315 foot (96 m) spire completed in 1465, and a two-storey cloister, the only such in England, which was built between 1300 and 1430, as well as the vaults of nave and chancel. The cathedral is built of flint and mortar faced with limestone brought in from Caen. Standing at 315 feet, the cathedral’s spire is the second tallest in England, and dominates the city skyline; only the spire of Salisbury Cathedral is higher at 404 feet. Like Salisbury and Ely, the cathedral lacks a ring of bells – the only three English cathedrals to do so. One of the best views of the cathedral spire is from St. James’s Hill on Mousehold Heath.
