This is a bar code that really reads Sexy Lady if scanned. You should give it a try, if you can find a scanner big enough. _
“The Prophet” Tormented by a spiritual thirst, / I stumbled through a gloomy waste, / And there a six-winged seraph / Appeared before me at the crossroad. / With touch as light as slumber, / He laid his fingers on my eyes, / Which opened wide in prophecy / Just as a startled eagle’s might. / Upon my ears his touch then fell, / And they were filled with noise and clangs: / I heard the heavens shift on high, / The whispering of angels’ wings, / Sea monsters moving in the deep, / The growing grapevines in the vales. / And then he bent down towards my mouth, / My sinful tongue he ripped right out- / Its slander and its idle lies- / And with his bloody hand inserted / Between my still and lifeless lips / A cunning serpent’s forked tongue. / And with his sword he cleaved my breast / Removed my shaking heart, / And then he seized a blazing coal, / And placed it in my gaping breast. / Corpse-like I lay upon the sand / And then God’s voice called out to me: / “Arise, O Prophet, watch and hark, / Fulfill all my commands: / Go forth now over land and sea, / And with your word ignite men’s hearts. All I know is that it is a beach somewhere in New South Wales. It was taken in 1983. / I have just bought a new dedicated slide scanner – had nothing to lose really because it was on a super special at just under $100. To my surprise it works like a charm – has good resolution and is VERY fast. This is one of the first slides I put through and, of course, it just HAD to be one I couldn’t place. / So if someone from over that side can help me identify this I would be delighted!
This was a very familiar scene at Hervey Bay on the Queensland coast during each of the half dozen or so times when we stayed there during the 1980’s. This particular shot was taken in 1980 on AgfaChrome slide film using a Yashika SLR 35 mm camera (can’t remember the model) I scanned it into the computer using my new FilmScan 35 I dedicated slide scanner just purchased for slightly less than AU$100 on Catch of the Day.
We were three weeks at Wagga Wagga, in the caravan park and had a site right beside the Murrumbidgee River. On this particular morning the rising sun was giving up some lovely photos of reflections on the river – until I looked across to the Church and it was a magic moment – the sun was hitting it full on and the river mist was creeping through the area. / The year was 1983 and we were travelling all over NSW doing school photos. Well, someone had to do it!! LOL
Scott © Vicki Ferrari / My mate Scott! / This is a scanned image, from an original 8X10” portrait from my original portfolios. / I did ask his permission first before doing this! / There was a group of us that had a whole lot of fun at college, sometimes I don’t know how we survived actually!
