Grand Canyon, August 2001 During the days I was there every day around 3 pm clouds would come up (or rather down into the canon) and a short shower of rain or even a quick thunderstorm would happen – bringing some needed refreshment when hiking around there. This view is from the southern rim, shortly after the end of one such rainfall, when the clouds were breaking up again. ++ Scan from slide film (Fujifilm Sensia ISO 200)
This is a collage of different chocolate. I don’t think I even have to explain the passion for this delicasy. The way it melts in your mouth (not in your hands), and it makes us comfortable. Chocolate is delicious! I did this on my scanner.
Thought this guy was a globular springtail until I got it under the SEM and realised it had far too many ocelli! Probably an aphid of some sort, identifications welcome!
A scan of a hand, along with a broken bit of jewelry that pops by for a visit, every now and again. I do intend to use this as a model, or possible photo manipulation, for other works of mine and do not consider this to be a piece of art in and of itself.

Found while scanning some old “odd sized” negatives from circa 1950 – the suave looking guy on the far end turned 80 last year…. my dad Photographer unknown. B&W medium format negative135×82mm
Scanned print from about 4 years ago. It is Kokubunji temple. This site has a 3000 year old history….
Statues guarding the entrance to the Abu Simbel temple in Upper Egypt. This temple was carved out of a huge rock, and the whole thing was cut into pieces and moved up the mountain when the Nasser dam was built, in order to save it from being flooded by Lake Nasser. The shot was taken close to winter solstice, at which the sunlight shines right through from the entrance (left of the image) into the inner sanctum. Obviously I was not alone there, so I tried to reduce the distraction of people walking around by taking a long exposure, and like the fact that a hint of a person can still be made out in front of those stone guardians who have been standing there for millenia – perhaps this is how they are seeing us anyway. Scan from colour slide (Kodachrome from 1990).
This image was created on my Kodak Easyshare 5300 scanner The only problem was collecting up all the spices afterwards
The beaches of Byron Bay, on Australia’s eastern (Pacific) coast are legendary with surfers the world over. I’m not sure what this particular beach is called – after all I took it as a slide almost 30 years ago and have just put it through my new film/slide scanner. The colours are about as I remember them from all those years ago though and this is one of those places that should be high on the list for all visitors to our shores.
A popular picnic area, Noble Falls is between Midland and Toodyay, beside the main road and across the Darling range – about an hour and a quarter east of Perth, Western Australia. / As a fall, at first glance it is not very impressive being not much more than 6’ high, if that, but it’s the constant sound of running water, plus the scenic surrounds that have attracted the crowds for many, many years. The pub opposite might also be a side attraction! / This is another shot taken about 20 years ago on my Nikon F3 using Agfa transparency film and scanning the resultant slide into the computer.
A scan from days of old
i love scanography
The rock at the tops of these cliffs is criss-crossed with fissures, rather like the grikes in a limestone pavement. These fissures, however, are hundreds of feet deep and the sea can be discerned at the bottom of them. These are the Chasms and many are quite wide enough to fall down, so care must be taken. The Chasms are at the very southern tip of the Isle of Man. (Scanned from a very old print, with TLC)
this has been scanned from the print out my printer made when by accident I photocopied my feet. all done for ghastly hp deskjet f2120

I need a price check… on a human life… price check It is disturbing how easily such things can be purchased by almost anyone… might as well have a barcode on everything these days and put them in a supermarket :| And apparently they think human life has a price, and for what… greed, politics, religion… whatever… life is priceless… cherish it, not waste it. Also on a tee: /
