  • One scanned image repeated 3 times, I call this type of work a “scanograph”.

  • From a studio shoot with a great modern dancer. Please note: Because of the border, this image was separately uploaded as a white card, black card, and bigger print (this version right here). Black & White Travel Nudes

  • Experimentation—nearly crashed my computer with this high res scan of part of a large oak leaf.

  • I hope the quality is ok – only just getting used to scanning film – last image was not big enough :)

  • Painted Poppies film scanned and photoshopped

  • A macro shot (80-200 and extension tube) of a crocus flower with a small metal candle holder (the face), shot early in the morning, when shadows from nearby shrubs looked interesting. I tried to get just the stamens in focus and the shadow on the left to look like a figure with a distended belly. I attempted to make the whole effect slightly menacing – a contrast between innocence and evil. Velvia, Nikon F4, scan.

  • Golden Pheasant / / /

  • Taken in Hamburg, Germany, in September (?) 1982. / I was actually going to Munich (Munchen), but managed to get tickets for England vs Denmark, in Copenhagen. A detour of approx 600 miles (1000 km) / It was a fun trip, and nice to see this lovely old Ship in the harbour. / It looks like a replica of an old galleon or pirate ship. / Hence the Jolly Roger flying from the mast. Scanned Image. / Taken on 35mm film. / Olympus OM1N. / Seiko 50mm 1.8 (?) Lens. Hope you like it. / Thanks for looking.

  • It looks like the sea has exploded against the rock. This is a scanned image of a picture taken in the late 70’s, at Lizard Point in Cornwall. / In all of my visits there since, I have never seen anything like this again. Lizard Point is the most southerly part of mainland Britain, and the nearest main town is Helston. Scanned Image. / Taken on 35mm film. / Olympus OM1N. / Seiko 50mm 1.8 (?) Lens. Hope you like it. / Thanks for looking.

  • Bedlam heartburn / A series where I try to approace the fear of insanity. I believe that this fear is collective and that we all have to face it sometime, one way or another. Yesterday i went to the hospital and got an MR scan (Magnetic Resonance x-ray) to figure out where my headaches comes from. / So this is how i look with a brain / (that sometimes hurt) :o Composite MR scan and selfportrait Inspired by Pink Floyd-Brain Damage/Eclipse Lyrics / The lunatic is on the grass / The lunatic is on the grass / Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs / Got to keep the loonies on the path The lunatic is in the hall / The lunatics are in my hall / The paper holds their folded faces to the floor / And every day the paper boy brings more And if the dam breaks open many years too soon / And if there is no room upon the hill / And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too / Ill see you on the dark side of the moon The lunatic is in my head / The lunatic is in my head / You raise the blade, you make the change / You re-arrange me till Im sane / You lock the door / And throw away the key / Theres someone in my head but its not me. And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear / You shout and no one seems to hear / And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes / Ill see you on the dark side of the moon / —-—-—-—-—- Thank you ! / ...roy

  • more shots from university – this is based on childhood memories.

  • Another image taken from a woodland walk last autumn. Part of a series which I hope to put up on my website very soon.

  • Another image taken on a Hasselblad and another image for my developing ‘Childhood Narratives’ portfolio.

  • I can’t really explain why I wanted to post this. I just keep coming back to it. I think I like the grain and the timeless feel it has. This was taken on my Leica r3 – film scanned .. this is part of a body of work taken on a woodland walk.

  • I nearly titled this “Mental Mildew,” because of the state of mind I’m in. But it’s too pretty and looks too much like gold (or something else nicer than mildew) to be stuck with a name like that. Maybe next time. Base image is one of the scanned images described here, with painting, editing and an additional layer added from the same group (for texture). Photoshop Elements 3. /

  • Variety of autumn leaves imaged with an Epson scanner. Levels/hue/saturation adjustments in Photoshop.

  • Mesa Arch, Canyonlands NP, Utah, USA. Utah has an amazing landscape, there is so much to see, very photogenic with all that red rock, especially viewed against a very blue sky ! (I like it best when there are a few clouds as well though !) This Arch is reached along a rocky trail, and is very impressive, as it perfectly frames the view beyond. / We did quite a few of the trails in Canyonlands and Arches, and found the very dry going underfoot an absolute dream, since we are more used to having to play ‘dodge the bog’ here in super-wet Scotland ! Shot on Fuji Velvia, around seven years ago. I scanned it on to my PC with my Nikon Coolscan VED, and tidied up a bit of ‘dust’ in Photoshop. I also beefed up the red colour for more impact.
