Perhaps the ‘signature’ shot of ABM Malt Kiln, this particular room was a favourite of we adventurous few who visited. Alas, arsonists recently torched this part of the building and this view is lost forever… I spent quite some time tweaking the HDR settings before I was happy… but am especially pleased with how the lighting turned out.

This piece is a particularly warped view of my lounge from my room. I wanted to express the strong colour and feel of my lounge from a different perspective. Warm colours were fused with bright ones, with the subjects carefully interacting with each other.

Constructed in 1866 by Elijah Oliver.He was the son of John Oliver and born in the cove in 1824. His original farm was destroyed during the U.S. Civil War by Confederate marauders. This cabin is considered a dog-trot cabin sence it has a breezeway between the main house and kitchen.People in the cove didn’t turn away strangers who may need food or a place to spend the night.The closed in portion of the front porch was a “stranger room” Elijah built for this reason.This cabin is located a short hike from the Cades Cove Loop Road in the Great Smoky Mountain NP
