This is Thornseat Lodge, a derelict house in Derbyshire, originally a Gamekeepers house, then in 1934 was turned into an orphange and was stopped being used in the late 80’s, now it is just falling apart, such a waste

Best Viewed Large One of the most striking aspects of Venice, Italy, apart from the glorious cathedrals, famous bridges and other magnificent and historic structures … are the intriguing dwellings lining the canals. The romance and mystery reach out and grab the imagination by the heart … some of us leave our hearts there … hoping someday to return!! Image taken in July of 2005 with the hand held Olympus C-5000 zoom point and shoot. Post processing included some Photoshop tinkering and a trip to Photomatix for hdr with a single image, eval +/- 2. I subsequently put the image into Corel Paint 11 for some brushstroke work on the flowers.

Aren’t you glad this isn’t your home?? My husband and I drove by this abandoned house the other day. This is the first time I’ve been able to get inside one. Usually I’m toting the kids, and can only get a quick shot of the outside. Oh man, this place was TRASHED! But so fun to photograph! Unfortunantly, I didn’t have a tripod, nor was there really anything to use as one, so only a couple of my HDR shots didn’t turn out a complete blury. HDR This piece was featured on the Redbubble Homepage May 23,2009 and in Dilapidated Buildings group, Eerie Lighting group and A Photographer’s Craft.
