Hello! We’ve been busily chipping away on a bunch of big stuff (like a new search engine, UPS integration, order tracking and the new products), but there’s also some goodies that you can play with today! Here’s the highlights: V-Neck Tees Just like the long-sleeve tees we released a few weeks back, we’ve automatically made every tee design available as a V-neck. They’re the same sizing as our unisex short-sleeve tees, which means they suit both guys and girls, they’re available in most colors and all sizes except 2XL & 3XL (sorry, they don’t make ‘em). We’re showing them on a girl, but they suit guys too (we had to choose one or the other for now). Because of the lower neck line, the designs are pushed further down the garment, which means not every design will look perfect, but we’re working on that (aren’t we always?). I absolutely love the Fireworks design by anartistic, and here it is on a v-neck. More in depth, exciting tee related news, complete with ‘hilarious’ pictures, can be found here Reusable Frames We’ve made the buying interface for the reusable frames a bit better (we ran out of time last week), and we subtly suggest that people with a matted print in their cart might also want to buy a frame. Etc As usual, there’s heap of bug fixes and other little tweaks for you to discover for yourself. Next? I’d love to say next week is going to be more exciting, but we need to keep chipping away at the bugs and bigger / more difficult stuff first, so that we can get to the exciting new products and gadgets. I’m sure you understand… — Justin

Whew! That was a long downtime, sorry for taking so long… Hello Bubbleologists! I’m pleased to announce that we’ve just rolled out our weekly(-ish) release which contains many wonderful things, including… Featuring Work and People in Groups, Redesign, etc We’re mid-way through some redesign and re-structuring of groups. One of the things we were really keen to release was hosts featuring work from their group. It’s a mixture of art/writing/clothing (to keep things simple) and as hosts start featuring work in your groups, the group home pages will start showing the featured work. This led to a mini-redesign of the group navigation, page layouts, etc. We’re not done, but we think it’s a great start. Hosts: Start featuring work from your group, and we’ll probably post some more info in the hosts forum soon. Search Redesign The search screens have been redesigned to make them a bit easier to use, and a bit better for search engines to index your lovely content. VAT As announced a little way back, we’re now charging VAT on all orders being shipped to addresses in the UK. Those pesky bought/sold things We’ve removed the “bought work” and “sold work” things off everyone’s profile. They caused a whole lot of extra load on the servers, so the simplest thing to do was remove them. But if you guys really miss them, we’ll find a way to bring them back without crushing the servers—let us know what you think. More Red Dots We’ve started handing out a few more of those little red dots to people in the community, recognizing their contribution as volunteers. The first to be “dotted” are Colin Tobin and Imogene Munday, but we have a few more on the list to contact over the next few days, including kseriphn, Martin Pot, Anne van Alkemade, Kathleen, Damien Mason and Faizan Qureshi. Thank you! Etc That’s about it this week, with the usual bug fixes and miscellany. For those of you wondering if you just missed an entire day of your life, no, we’re just releasing on Wednesday instead of Thursday this week because of a public holiday in Melbourne soon. Also, check out Stiched 9.9 from the Ministry of T-Shirts too! — Justin on behalf of many other people

  • An illustration of a guitar, peace symbol and dove. A tribute to the Woodstock Music and Art Fair of 1969.

  • My first attempt at a T-Shirt design, I think it came out quite well! :D

Hello Bubbleers. Has it been two weeks already? We’ve been hard at work on many wonderful things which are just gonna take some time, but we do have some goodies that were ready to release today. Drum roll please… New Framed Print Previews Over the next few hours we’ll rolling out new product previews for our framed prints. They look amazing if I do say so myself, but it’ll take a few hours for them to spread out over the entire site, so here’s an example from the beautiful portfolio of TalBright: New Tee Previews They’re not quite as amazing as the frames admittedly, but we’re also rolling out new tee previews over the next few hours, with pretty accurate illustrations of each style, more room for bigger previews, etc. We were also “this close” to having an accurate preview of each garment size as well, but they’ll have to wait a little bit. Here’s an example of a Girly Short Sleeve design by dkcazaly: You might notice some weird stretching of designs while we roll these out, but it’ll be worth it! The reason behind this change is that we want to do some pretty interesting stuff with the tees, like printing on the back, or positioning the design in the bottom corner, etc, and a nice flat realistic illustration of the garment will make this much much easier. Beta Testing Challenges The Challenge Café group is graciously helping us over the next few weeks by testing out the new challenge functionality. I’ll post some more about challenges in the next day or so once we’re set-up. They’re not-quite-done, but there’s some pretty cool stuff in there, like the new “work selector” which lets you enter a work into the challenge from the challenge page in the group rather than from inside MyBubble (which we’ll obviously be rolling out to other places, like groups, ASAP). Order By Phone in Australia We’re also experimenting with the idea of “order by phone”, starting with Australia. Copyright IPTC Data We’re also in the process of rolling out copyright notices embedded in the IPTC meta data of the images. It’ll take a few hours to spread out across the site, but every main, zoom and product preview image (all the big ones) will soon contain the copyright data. There’s no setting or preference, we just do it. There’s a swag of bug fixes and little things too, so enjoy! — Justin

  • Music to my ears….

  • Since it was requested by someone, I decided to put my Whistle drawing on a shirt, including the border and background. Not a big fan of it myself, but if other people like it then it’s all okay, right? =P

  • ,, a daisy chain..sitting on the grass in the summer meadow, bees buzzing quietly in the background, sweet smell of warm hay weaving intricate daisy chains…..first make a hole in the stem of the daisy then thread another one through it then make a hole in that stem and thread the next one through and so on and so on… A first watercolour painting on hot pressed paper experimenting, trying to capture the elusive light o’ the summer meadow…. Summer ‘Thinking of you’ featured in ‘Works on paper’....

  • Since music is such an important part of my life, I decided to make a drawing dedicated to this love. Sadly, I cannot play an instrument myself, but I just love listening to music, as it can make me so happy, or make me feel inspired, or just as something to listen to when I feel sad. This shirt is also inspired by my youngest sister, who recently started to learn how to play the guitar. =) This is the digital, vectorised version of the original, which you can find here /

  • Something a little crazy for the “Sound” competition. I was thinking of calling him, “The Piano Man” but “Sound Byte” had a lovely mix of meanings :)

  • Not many people know I play the trumpet, and even less know how much I actually love playing it. I recently had a friend ask me to do some shots for her son’s bedroom who is also learning the trumpet, and I jumped at the chance and knew the shots would be for my own enjoyment as much as her son’s (hopefully) enjoyment!
