Old deserted Irish Farm. Very overgrown with major decay having set in. This has an old glass plate photographic effect.
Like waiting for judgement say, there they stood, in all their glory….40s era Fords, Oldsmobile’s, Pontiac’s, Chevy’s….awaiting the rodders touch to be sculptured in lead, and reincarnated into a new life as a hotrod. Sadly, as much as I love this place, it is now forever gone. I did many shoots at Classical Gas in Eaton, Colorado….and now it is just a memory….it is forever closed as the owner has recently passed away. I was lucky enough to have been here as often as I could…preserving it forever with my camera. And while it is an older shot, it seems just like yesterday I was standing there taking this….time stands still…...much as it did for the classic 40s Detroit iron….... Thoughts welcomed, print to come. Processed with PS, DCE HDR, and LucisArt. —-—-—-—-— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com
My second rendition of this shot…..I will miss this place as it has now closed down…sad….at least I was able to capture it while I could. HDR and LucisArt used in processing John
June 26th How excited I am! Tomorrow is my birthday, and my sisters have told me that Papa will be arriving first thing, and that he has a very special treat in store for me. Naturally since learning of this, I have been at pains to discover what awaits me. Yet to my utter dismay, when I try to interrogate my sisters , they will only say that they are sworn to secrecy, then glance at one another and burst into infuriating giggles. I feel that if I am to succeed in my endeavour to extract the necessary information before morning, I must first get to each of them separately, then use all the cunning and ingenuity inherited from my beloved father. What springs immediately to mind, is to adopt the guile of one of Nature’s predators and pursue the weaker of the pack. Knowing as I do of Audrey’s great fondness for fruit bonbons, I shall arm myself with said items, and make my way to her bedchamber this very evening. Let us see how long her lips remain sealed when such delightful confection is offered in exchange for her secrets!
/ Another instalment in my Nostalgia series / It was created using my painted with light techniques, if you are interested in the details, here is an article I wrote about them. In this case I set the exposure to 15sec. Equipment used: / - Pentax K10D with a SMC Pentax-M 1:3.5 28mm lens / - cheap flashlight and the camera set to auto WB which it screws up resulting in the nostalgic colours. more work / the calendar / Available as a desktop wallpaper

I did a number of versions of this still life – in the end I closed my eyes and chose one at random! One does get a tad jaded after looking at these images for too long! Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM
This is the most recent instalment of my Nostalgia series As usual, it was created with my “painted with light” technique that mainly exists out of long exposures and a lot of “painting” with a flash light. / Tutorials on my technique can be found here and here This image was shot during several exposures of 30s on f22 and ISO100 which were later combined using Photoshop. more work / the calendar / the print /

/ I wouldn’t like to feed the photographers for which this photo is the plain and simple truth. Another instalment in my Nostalgia series although a little different then usual in the set-up. It’s a lot simpler a composition then most of my work, but let me assure you, it was so much harder to get right! Shot with my relatively new Pentax K10D and a very old Pentax-A 1:1.7 50mm objective. You can read all about the technique used in this tutorial more work / the calendar / preview / “Forgotten” was sold as a Medium mounted print to an anonymous buyer. Thank you! “Forgotten” is also freely downloadable as a wallpaper to decorate your desktop.

This is the Glenelg pier, Adelaide. I spent at least 10 mins waiting for people coming and going to clear out so I could get a shot of the pier alone. As you can see, this didn’t happen. Turns out, I prefer the activity in this one! Added a texture from www.deviantart.com stock and blanched out the colour form both texture and photo. Added an omni filter for lighting effect and slight adjustment of contrast. I love photographing my Father. There’s a lot of character to be captured in someone who’s lived for 70 years. / We all went to a local airshow today, & Dad I were drawn to the classic & vintage cars that were on display. / This one’s a ‘48 Ford Prefect. / Two classics full of character…. I took this from a bus, while traveling between Madrid and Valencia, in Spain. I have no idea what this little village is called, but it was like something out of a movie. We past several of these on the 6 hour bus trip across the country. Spain has some spectacular scenery and quaint villages that almost seem trapped in time. Layered the original image twice, adjusted contrast and tone slightly. Added a texture layer from www.deviantart.com free use stock. Layered the texture several times over, adjusting the constrast, saturation and lightness on each to vary the colour and tone. Canon SX100IS MCN: CPPLS-ALHT7-XR34Q

Best on Full Size Image taken at Old Bedford Village, Bedford, Pennsylvania on October 10, 2009. There’s a wonderful sense of having stepped back in time here. Camera used Nikon D300, 18-200mm vr Nikon lens, shutter 1/250, ap f/10.0, exp 0.00, iso 640. Post processing included a light hdr from a single hand held image duped to evals of -2 and -4; a faint Orton; dodging, burning and a texture. My thanks to Ghostbones at Flickr for the texture.
