I’ve made this available as a black on white SS t-shirt. If you fancy the design bigger, smaller or in a different colour or place, I’ll see what I can do.
All week I had been planning to go to Sydney to a reptile show, but this morning for some reason I changed my mind. My wife and I decided to go and visit friends who had recently moved into a new house. This took us in the opposite direction. At about fifteen kilometers away from home we came upon the dead body of a female wombat which had been hit by a car. On inspection we found she had a “joey” in the pouch. I always carry a disection kit in the car as generally it is necessary to cut the mothers pouch in order to extracate the baby (some joeys come into care with broken limbs when people pull them out of the pouch). As I was cutting the pouch open, a vintage motor cycle came past on a Sunday run, hence the baby wombats name of Norton. He weighs 300gms. It’s early days but with feeds every three hours and lots of love and care he should be able to live as a free wombat in the bush in about two years. / Never did get to visit our friends, maybe next week!! / Will post more pix soon.
A celebration of the Native Orchids found in South Australia. 9 of these 12 orchids were photographed on Mount Barker Summit in the Adelaide Hills. 2 of them were photographed in the mallee scrub at Monarto, and 1 at Norton Summit.
Tyler Durden’s finest.
These beautiful Candlebark Gums were photographed at Sinclair’s Gully Winery at Norton Summit – the Adelaide Hills only eco certified winery & cellar door. The Candlebarks botanical name is Eucalyptus rubida, and in dedication to these beautiful towering trees on their property Sue & Sean of Sinclair’s Gully Winery have named their wonderful sparkling white “Rubida”. This image has been treated with a painterly & textured effect.
A towering Candlebark in Sinclair’s Gully, Colonial Drive, Norton Summit, South Australia. Candlebark trees are the only trees yellow tailed black cockatoos roost in the state.
I had the most wonderful opportunity today to photograph this wild fledgling yellow tailed black cockatoo. This photograph was taken at Sinclair’s Gully Winery at Norton Summit. Young Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos spend 5 days on the ground before they can fly & are vulnerable to predators such as foxes. This fledgling yellow tail black cockatoo was rescued from the road & placed behind a fox proof fence to protect it while it learns to fly. The adult Yellow Tails still feed it & a group of them have been encouraging it to fly. A heart felt thank you to Sue & Sean Delaney of Sinclair’s Gully for rescuing this bird, and for giving me the wonderful opportunity to photograph it :)
Norton Junction, Grand Union Canal was featured by the Stream Crossings group. /

It’s the hottest radio show in the world. Every morning these two hit the airwaves and bring it. The name of the show doesn’t do it justice, hopefully the design will. Girl with duct tape over her mouth and a tear sliding down her cheek doesn’t realize that this is all in good fun. Only if she looked down and saw the “Linger Longer!” / Oh yeah, Fuck the FCC.

This is 2 week old Norton that I photographed yesterday. He was such a good baby & so cute! I just love the way this turned out :) / Cannon xsi 50 mm 1.4
I’d never been to a bike meeting before today, and I know little about specific models etc, but I like most things with an engine…especially if they have some history, so if I have this wrong, I’d be happy to be corrected. This (I believe) is a 500cc Manx Norton circa 1954 still doing what it was built for – racing! This is my first attempt at photographing bike racing, so just getting some half-decent shots was my intention today – I think I’ve bagged a few worth uploading, so here’s the first! Nikon D80.
