  • Yes, before you say it … strange! :-) As of July 2009, this painting has had 5,048 viewings and has been favourited 79 times and had 194 comments, so I guess someone out there likes it. Many thanks for your enthusiasm. To be candid though, I’ll never cease to be amazed at its reception, as I didn’t spend too much time on it and even kept it out of my portfolio for ages as I thought it was sub-standard. PLEASE NOTE – AS THE PROPORTIONS OF THIS ARE NOT IN LINE WITH THE PRINTING REQUIREMENTS, IT IS NO LONGER FOR SALE FEATURED BY SURREALISM GROUP – 28th July 2008 FEATURED BY YOU’RE ACCEPTED GROUP – 11th November 2008 FEATURED BY BRITISH PAINTERS GROUP – 26th June 2009 FEATURED BY UNIVERSAL INNOVATION GROUP – 3rd August 2009 I continued this theme and did two more paintings: /

  • Over a hundred years ago, Blyth had a lot of windmills. I did this stylised one from a black and white photo of a 19th century pencil drawing. I like working like that – it gives my imagination plenty to play with.

  • Langley Castle in Northumberland uk – about 15 mins from home – taken last Christmas it is a small but really beautiful place.

  • This Siberian tiger is following the footprints of his dinner. Beautiful but menacing. An oil painting.

  • One of those quiet magic moments when nature comes to you. Perhaps the only time you hope you don’t get a bite. Oil on board 14” x 12”

  • Hadrian’s Wall, summer 2007

  • National Heritage site Heritage Listed Lindisfarne, Northumberland, UK For with the flow and ebb, its style / Varies from continent to isle; / Dry shood o’er sands, twice every day, / The pilgrims to the shrine find way; / Twice every day the waves efface / Of staves and sandelled feet the trace. / Sir Walter Scott / More from Lindisfarne:

  • From the bitter north-east wind and the brutal crashing waves … and that bloody woman with the camera again :)

  • This was taken up at Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland UK – this is a photographer battling against the wind – you have no idea how cold it was that day :)

  • Taken at Hadrian’s Wall – another freezing cold day.

  • Spanish City is in Whitley Bay (UK) and was a place where tourist would flock too. It has the most beautiful beaches but unfortunately there has been a decline in the urban side – however, saying that there is apparently a commitment for regeneration. What makes me sad is that we allow things to fall into this kind of disrepair in the first place – beautiful places like this are blighted by closed down hotels, pubs, amusement parks and cafes. This is part of my college project.

  • This is a Tunnel of Ivy at Alnwick Garden, Northumberland. I could have happily stayed in there for hours…. 5890 views – this figure still amazes me….

  • Northumberland, England.

  • Northumberland, England. One of my favourite places to walk :)

  • Trying something out and I’d really appreciate critique on this one. If you don’t like it I’ll still speak to you – just be honest with me please….lol /

  • The Aos Sidhe (pronounced “ess shee”), are a powerful, supernatural race comparable to the fairies or elves of other traditions. / They live in an invisible world that coexists with the world of humans. / The Gaelic Otherworld is seen as being closer at the times of dusk and dawn, therefore this is seen as a time special to the Aos Sidhe, as are some of the festivals such as Samhain and Midsummer. The Aos Sidhe are generally described as stunningly beautiful, though they can also be terrible and hideous. I cursed myself for walking too deep into the forest and missing seeing the sunset from the view point high on the hillside like i intended, but the evening rays brought colour to the forest like I wouldnt have imagined. / The forest is very much still in green, but the backlighting from the sunset has given such warmth to the leaves. As it was so late in the day, this is a 1 second exposure. other photos from the forests around my home / / Loki’s Forest

  • Catherine Walker of Redbubble was joking about how she’d love to buy a castle to live in and that reminded me of this drawing I once did of a stately home three miles from where I live. As the owners are finding it expensive to run it is now up for sale. Don’t all rush at once, but if you’d like a nice home with a history and (reputedly) the ghost of a lady dressd in white then here is the bargain of a lifetime … a mere snip at only £13.2 million ($26 million approx.). • “Ancient guardians / of time and secrets, / the stone giants / lean and whisper / of their youth. The whisperers remember / when the age was new, / and shadows had not fallen / across the broad moor. The Standing Stones / keep well their secrets / teasing with memories / that only the dead / can know” poem by Celtic Poet. / Rie Sheridan

  • Shot taken on a recent trip to Northumberland. / Bamburgh Castle is situated on the North East Coast of England Between Holy Island and Seahouses. / It’s situated Just off a beautiful beach with a grassy bank with views out to sea of the Farne Islands. The weather wasn’t playing ball again with very strong gusts of wind blowing the long grass about! / Instead I thought I would make use of the situation. / I applied my Infrared filter and used a 60 second shutter speed to blur out the grass and leave a dreamy effect. • Please View Large Wikipedia © / Alnmouth is a village in Northumberland, England. It is situated just off the main A1068 road (to Ashington), about 4 miles (6 km) south-east of Alnwick. / Located at the mouth of the River Aln, the village has been an important trading port in Northumberland’s past, mainly involved in the export of grain, and smuggling. Due to the trade in grain, the village contained a number of granaries. The port declined after the river changed course during a violent storm in 1806. This incident also resulted in the original church which stood on Church Hill being destroyed. The church had already suffered much erosion by the river and was in a state of collapse. After the loss of the grain exports, the old granaries were converted to houses. / Today, Alnmouth is a popular tourist resort. It is within the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village boasts the fourth oldest golf course in the country. • Embleton Bay – Northumberland This was a particular significant sunrise for me. I left home at 1am, drove two hours and forty minutes to location, tried to get some sleep, walked about thirty minutes down a beach that I have never been to in the dark and set up for the sunrise. Got some very good photographs and was happy with my instinct to just go somewhere for a sunrise. The colours that a sunrise give, is to me very therapeutic, they warm one up from within. Forget about medication etc, get people involved in nature and see the difference.
