The thunderstorm in this photograph was taken on the top-end wetlands late in the build up season…only weeks before this area was a dustbowl, yet weeks later it becomes a floodplain ! Driving along this almost deserted highway we spotted this Love heart, somewhere between Uluru and Kings Canyon. An amazing piece of work, literally in the middle of nowhere. Hence the title, Love is all around…even in the middle of nowhere….. Waking up early isn’t my forté, but this magical sunrise pulled me out of bed and down to the river. The morning mists were rolling down and the water was dead calm, as if not wanting to disturb the day. The photo is cross-processed medium format velvia and retains some imperfections.

In life as well as fishing it’s all about the journey! / As the sunrise burned through the fog early Sunday morning, on Clear Lake near Hunstville, Ontario, two fishermen enthusiastically set out for their favourite fishing spot… / This shot was as a result of an early morning walk in / August 2008 in the fog: part planning, part serendipity. I painted this picture with Art Rage after reading the Golden Compass trilogy. Painted from a picture of the aurora which I found on the internet. I have always been fascinated by the northern lights and there are wonderful descriptions of this natural phenomena in the first book of the above mentioned trilogy. A portrait version of this shot These are 300 year old beach trees and getting to the end of their natural life. When touring around Northern Ireland we were lucky enough to see a couple of photos of this place and eventually managed to find a toutrist info person that knew where they were. So with the sun low in a September sky we headed out and found possibly the most stunning bit of road I have ever been on in my life! Sony Alpha A200 18mm

Taken on Valetine’s eve. / Perfect weather and you could see this Northern light starting slowly on your right side and start to spread more towards the left. The colours where amazing. Normally it’s difficult to see the purple/red but not this time. So I got the entire developing of this Northern lights until it almost covered the sky. Rota Island – August 2009 / straight out of the camera / Life on this island is friendly and unhurried and the hospitality is as unforgettable as the magical sunsets. Rota Island is a natural playground with around 3000 inhabitants and is known by many to be Micronesia’s best-kept secret / Rota (Chamoru: Luta) also known as the “peaceful island”, is the southernmost island of the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and the second southernmost of the Marianas Archipelago. It lies approximately 40 miles north-northeast of the United States territory of Guam. Songsong village is the largest and most populated followed by Sinapalo village (Sinapalu). In 1521, the first European to see Rota, was the lookout on Magellan’s ship Victoria, Lope Navarro. However, Magellan’s Armada of three ships didn’t stop until they reached Guam, so the first European to arrive in Rota (in 1524), was Spanish navigator Juan Sebastian Elcano, who annexed it together with the rest of the Marianas Archipelago on behalf of the Crown of Spain.
