  • A nice walk along the quayside in Newcastle on a fresh sunny february morning….better than watching the telly..

  • The castle is located in what was once the very volatile border area between England and Scotland. Not only did the English and Scots fight, but the area was frequently attacked by Vikings. The castle was built in 1550, around the time that Lindisfarne Priory went out of use, and stones from the priory were used as building material. It is very small by the usual standards, and was more of a fort. The castle sits on the highest point of the island, a whin stone hill called Beblowe. It can be located in Northumberland,on Holy Island. England.

  • This is actually the first time that I had seen this rock face and I have been driving along this road each summer on my anual pilgrimage to the North coast … I stopped the car and just by chance this was there in front of me …. wow Just before reaching Ballycastle – North bound

  • a NI NortEast coastline gem … just minutes after I took this pic my family and I watched approx 50-60 bottle nosed dolphins swim along the coast only yards from the waters edge … what a sight to see (I photographed this but accidently wiped my cf memory card in my pro815 … i know … i’m pissed at that) ... would make a great card from Ireland this place has a well known and long History

  • Took this as the tide was going out on Short Sands Beach in York, Maine. The seagull’s tracks in the sand and the water coming in from the tide made an awesome image like a drawing of a tree in the sand. Sep 2008 BEST VIEWED LARGER

  • Adirondack Mountains / Lake Placid, N.Y. USA / Nikon D300 I am thankful for our changing seasons. Come on snow!!

  • After I demonstrated a few wave painting techniques, I later thought to join them up into a painting! A Spontaneous watercolour! Watercolour 14” x 10” on Bockingford rough 140lb. So far, nobody has spotted the little men in white shirts, clinging for life, to the torn-off mast (left side of painting). I’ve entered this into Impressionism Cafe,‘seascapes’

  • This storm dumped 2’ of snow on us April 16 and 17th 2007 in the village of Orwell Hill, PA. Taken with a Canon Rebel XTi camera and sitting in my 4×4 pick up truck. The snow was wet and heavy. This hill is two miles long before I get to my home.

  • The gorgeous Silverspray Falls (also known as Hidden Falls) deep withim Tillman’s Ravine in Stokes State Forest Preserve of northwestern New Jersey. The afternoon I captured this, the falls were very powerful due to torrential spring rains that had been falling during the month of June. By mid-August they may be pretty much non-existent, depending on how dry the summer turms out to be. The hike itself is very treacherous, but very rewarding when you finally reach the falls. Gear : Nikon D300 – Nikkor 24-80 f2.8 ED lens – Circular Polarizer – Manfrotto Tripod with cable release. Settings: 36mm – f16 at 5 seconds. All content & images © Stephen Vecchiotti. • Beautiful Buttermilk Falls in full srping flow (this is only the upper portion), cascading down Tillmans Ravine at Stokes State Forest in northwestern New Jersey. The total height of these gorgeous falls is 94 feet, making it one of the highest in the State of New Jersey. I shot this about one hour before sunset which can be an excellent time to capture waterfalls. Gear : Nikon D300 – Nikkor 24-80 f2.8 ED lens – Circular Polarizer – Manfrotto Tripod with cable release. Settings: 62mm – f22 at 30 seconds. All content & images © Stephen Vecchiotti. • This is the view that greets you as you climb out of Teesdale and look across the head of Weardale. The distance looks small. it is just the small matter of the odd steep decline, hairpin bend, sheep with tyre headbutting tendencies, lost ramblers, motorbikes with broken speed dials, cyclists with broken brakes, mobile homes pitched for a tea break and the odd strong gust of wind wanting you to join Dorothy. One this day, the wind was a tad on the strong side, OK the photographer was standing at a 38degree angle to try and hold the camera steady, but as you can see, the sun was determined to puncture the clouds and rain with the odd burst of light, through which ghosts of rainbows moved with the speed of light as the clouds chased the light from the valley in the wind. Converted into a pinhole black and white and best viewed large

  • Mt Hope Cemetary is located in Rochester, NY. Stunning color in an unlikely place. Nikon D90/ Nikon 18-105mm /

  • Yep – my fourth trip this fall! An autumn view of the Ozone Falls at Rickett’s Glen State Park, Benton, PA. I was lucky enough to spend a beautiful day at the falls with some Keystone State members on 10/26/09. The falls were very powerful after a weekend of heavy rain, and there was still plenty of gorgeous color in the leaves. I set the camera on a rock at the base of the falls to get a different perspective on this picture.
