Yet more playing at being a tourist. I was born in and grew up in York and, given that my parents still live there, I get back there two or three times a year. When we go do, because we’ve got a child, we try and do something while we’re there and, often, this ends up in us doing something vaguely touristy (which always feels odd to me). Last weekend we went on one such visit and, for want of anything better to do, we went to visit the National Railway Museum. Annoyingly I sort of took the wrong camera with me. I took my Canon PowerShot G9 instead of my Canon EOS 400D. I’d have been better off with the latter because the light in the museum is terrible and the G9 is horribly noisy at high ISOs (and I hate to use the flash unless I really must). Still, I came away with a small set of images that I’m happy enough with.

Hey there, since this is my first Journal post, I thought I would give a little info about myself. I live in the United Kingdom, in the County Town of North Yorkshire, Northallerton. Luckily I have the countryside on my doorstep, and am most days with my camera. I am also lucky to get up to the West Coast of Scotland about three times a year where there is undoubtedly plenty of landscape photography. As mention in my profile I enjoy landscape photography and HDR photography, sometime combining both together. My primary camera is a Nikon D70s, with a Panasonic TZ5 as backup (also used as a journal camera). Currently I am delving into the realm of black & white HDR which is workin great with textures etc. I joined redbubble about a year ago, but have not really got into it properly – so am hoping to share more images in the future.
