BEST VIEWED WHEN ENLARGED This is Saltwick Bay, near Whitby, North Yorkshire, England just before the sun broke the horizon. The wonder of the light made it worthwhile getting up so early! Apart from the amazing sky that morning, I like how the colours in the sky reflected on the wave platform filling the viewfinder with pink and blue.

16×20 Acrylic painting of the rocks at the end of the second lagoon – Marathon, Ontario / the rocks are rich in in very colourful lichen which made a wonderful contrast with the snow 16×20 on canvas
Another view of the trig point at Capplestone Gate, in Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. What you can’t see on this shot is the half-dozen or so other walkers sat behind me having their lunches whilst watching the idiot with the camera leaping from rock to rock trying to get the best angle! :) Nikon D40 / Sigma 10-20mm @ 20mm – f/11

Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Rock Cod This huge hand painted rock takes pride of place on the southern outskirt of Derby. Derby, North-east Tasmania, Australia. Derby is about 1 hour and 15 minutes’ drive (104 kilometres/65 miles) north east of Launceston on Highway A3. The town came into existence following the discovery of tin in 1874-75. Within a few years there were thousands of miners, both European and Chinese, working in the general area up and down the Ringarooma Valley. It was originally called Brothers’ Home for the Krushka brothers’ mine, the first in this locality. In May 1887 the name was changed to Derby in honour of the then Prime Minister of England, the Earl of Derby. Derby reached its peak in the first decade of the 1900s, after the consolidation of several mining operations under the Briseis Tin and General Mining Company, and was for a few years the most productive tin mine in Tasmania. Operations were temporarily halted in 1929 as a result of the Briseis Dam disaster, when water swept through the town and mine killing fourteen people. The mine was re-opened in 1937, but the main operation closed again in 1946. Canon PowerShot A650 IS Shutter Speed: 1/100sec / Aperture: F4.8 / ISO: 200
I went back for another shoot at North Beach, The tide was higher then on Saturday night, But this was my last chance for a low tide with good colours in the sky, So I decided to go back again. Sunset was ok, But there was some cloud over the sun just as the sun was setting, But got some nice photos of the rays of light beaming out. Dusk saw some nice colours during the twilight hour, And I managed to get a few nice shots with good colour in the sky. EOS 500D.
I went back to North beach hoping for another stunning sunset like the one I got the night before. Things were looking good late in the afternoon, but the cloud cleared away by time I got to the beach. A bit disappointing, It ended up being just another typical Perth sunset though. EOS 500D.

It was a bit misty along the coast which kind of helped a bit. EOS 500D. Featured in: All the Colors of the Rainbow.

The white water walk at Niagara Falls allows you to get close to the raging waters that tumble over Niagara Falls – albeit downstream of the falls themselves. Dotted within this raging landscape are rocks holding fast against the powerful eroding waters that sweep by them. Featured in The Beauty of Nature (Nothing Man-Made).
