The light was changing every minute. I climbed over some huge rocks to get into a great position to take some surfing shots, when suddenly this huge cloud covered up the sun. Suddenly the beautiful light illuminating the waves the surfers were riding was gone. I looked to my left and noticed the light here. Quickly, I grabbed my stuff and setup this shot…..only got one frame, because soon after this the light here was also gone. This image was taken before dawn down at North Narrabeen Rock Pool. This is one of the largest rock pools in Australia. This image was a 3 minute exposure which captures a lovely blurring of the clouds. The interesting colours of the water are due to overhead lighting on the pool. This is a very simple but peaceful image. For those that want to find out how I produced this, I described my processing in detail in one of my blog posts You can read it here
This morning was a gorgeous morning to be up and about…. 5AM and I was wondering the rocks of North Narrabeen in just a T-shirt. Not a cloud in the sky, not a puff of wind, hardly a swell in sight. Not the best conditions for seascape photography, but a lovely morning to be up and about enjoying the Spring weather. Did manage to take this photo of North Narrabeen Rock Pool. Love the old textured planks around the pool.
I took this shot in Bateau Bay, which is part of Central Coast New South Wales Australia. Roughly 2 hours above Sydney. I love the glow of sunsets in wet sand and this, broken by the rocks, formed a scene I just had to capture!
Headed up to a new point that I haven’t been too before. Some lovely rocks sitting in the surf…. Spent an hour with the beach to myself. Lovely way to greet a Sunday morning.
Garden Of the Gods Park, outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado, is without a doubt one of my all time favorite places to shoot at….the light there just dances, especially during the golden hours just after sunrise…..Pike’s Peak is in the background, with the wind blowing the snow into the sky. / Thoughts welcomed! With a heavy NE swell closing down most of the beaches along Australia’s East Coast over new year, not even the pools are safe. In a somewhat typical Aussie understatement, the sign at North Curl Curl pool on Sydney’s Northern Beaches says “Pool Closed, Dangerous Conditions” and that’s if you can get close enough to read it without being washed away. A new years day swim to shake out the NYE cobwebs from the previous night is pretty much out of the question. While I was there, there were some much bigger waves/sprays but this one was pretty solid and nicely balanced the image with the pool. There should probably also be a sign that says “Don’t stand so close to the pool taking photographs” or shoot telephoto from a distance rather than wideangle. But then what’s the fun in that? Although the two feet of water swirling around below me was a bit dicey at times.
A photo I took yesterday at the East Ballina wall with a liiiitle bit of help from photoshop. I don’t know what’s happening to me! I’m usually such a pen and paper girl but can’t seem to get enough of “digitally re-mastering” my amateur photos.

Captured this am getting ready to leave for work. I loved how the end rocks (point) of Bell’s Island, NC looked like an arrow pointing at the intercoastal waterway. I debated removing the old duck blind in the distance…but decided it should stay.
A beach on the North Shore of Hawai’i. The weather has been unusually rainy on the island of Oahu, Hawai’i. I managed to catch some good clouds in between storms at a place called Rockpiles. December 13, 2008 Canon 1 Ds Mark II 17 mm / 3.2 second shutter speed / f/8 / ISO 100

Title from a certain Chris Isaak song… I haven’t been taking a lot of photos whilst enjoying my stay in San Francisco but this little visit to a certain bridge we all know, made the fact that I hadn’t been out not matter to me at all, I absolutely loved this spot and I can’t wait to come back to this great city and explore it a little bit more… Without a doubt this is already one of my favourite photos out of the many thousands I have taken over the past 18 months or so, thanks for looking :D / Settings Canon 40D, 10-22mm IS.
