The final set of photographs from last week. After spending most of the day messing about on the water we took a drive round to the south shore of Rutland Water and, while I was there, I took a small set of photographs: / South Shore Rocks / South Shore / Tower

The beautiful church at Normanton was saved when Rutland Water was created. It seems to sail serenely in Rutland Water.

This is Normanton Church at Rutland Water in Rutland, UK. The church is all that remains of the village, which was flooded to create a reservoir. Rutland is the smallest County in England. An experiment with different effects. I gave this an old photo effect using the Filter Forge photo effects plugin and altered the settings, then in Photoshop I used the filters to add a grainy effect to make it look older and get rid of the glossy appearance.
This church is all that is left of the village which lies at the bottom of this man-made reservoir. The land around the church has been raised to protect it from the water. For this experiment I enhanced the image in onOne software’s photo tools Photoshop plugin, I then added a soft focus effect before finally adding a grunge effect.
