Request, for Karl.
What does it mean? The question is: what should it mean? It should mean that we’re unique, we think for ourselves, and we’re going to make a difference in the world. But that scares some people. So tell those people that it means that everyone should just try to be the same. That way they’ll get out of your face. Be normal, it’s your disguise.
Sometimes Being Normal just isn’t enough. At those times you must be ULTRA Normal! I am, right now, for instance. Plus, I really love that show.
Don’t tell me that this isn’t normal for a child.
I don’t feel normal much.. but then what is normal?

This is a collection of pictures from a show I did last year, called Pilgrimms Progressive Rock. I just realized that Redbubble updated it for those who missed out last year. / Look out for another one by mid November. It’s looking good so far, but things could turn ugly.
Acrylic on canvas / 77×61cm / Original available
The morning after… Shauna embraces normality after the hype of the previous night’s performance—first gig in front of a crowd of 300. A Halloween special. I was there as the ‘film’ crew and designated photographer, while everyone else got drunk—including the band. So, now I shall be busy getting the DVD ready.
Best friends forever.
I was having my coffee this morning on the balcony while watching the rain and it gave me an idea so here it is! This was taken of the rain coming down on the balcony balustrade with the clouds in the background. I know that there are lots of amazing captures of splashes here on RB but this image really wasn’t about the splash, to me, it was more about the capture of morning rain. Best viewed large :o) Nikon D200 / 18-200mm lens, 5.6f / exposure 1/320 / processed in RAW
8”x10” scratchboard – Part of my “Proof of Faith” exhibit at Art Whino, National Harbor, MD. Please see www.artwhino.com for purchase. This piece is another experiment with the concept of totem poles. I am intrigued by the stacking of ideas into a vertical story, aesthetically and conceptually. Maybe some more totems are on their way?
When I was a little boy going to Convent School the Nuns showed a picture of a ‘Good boy’ and a ‘Bad boy’. The good boy’s soul was pure white, but the bad boy’s was covered in black stains. This image is how I believe a lot of people see me ( and I suppose I see myself ); why else would they cross the road to avoid me, as it’s not often I dribble or mutter to myself. Of course, I am ‘different’, and don’t quite fit in comfortably to ‘normal’ society, and this is one of the reasons I moved to the bush. My cats, and the birds and animals I encounter seem to accept me as just another living creature; my cats even show me love, at least until I feed them, but even then they’ve been known to want a cuddle, or just sit with me for company. I may be rather blind, but the painting is not the result of that, as it worked out almost exactly as planned. It’s on Fabriano 280gsm watercolour paper, 50 cm x 70 cm, and the medium used is simply India Ink.
Normal people scare me! Perfect for anyone who doesn’t fit the norms. Works well on dark and light backgrounds.
Another work from an earlier series… I wasn’t ready to post it at the time, but now, here it is. All images used to create this composite taken with Sony Alpha 350, and are mine. FEATURED IN ‘IMPERFECTLY’! FEATURED IN ‘DARK FUTURE’!

I’m a solid 5 on the How-Happy-Are-You Scale for the Happy Challenge Content, at peace with my self and my world…...full of hope for what can be and acceptance of what is…..enjoying the butterflies and rainbows and flowers, but knowing that they won’t always be there. Balanced…for today. We’re supposed to do a self-portrait for this Challenge and This seemed like the best way to portray me right now: midway between real and not, happy and not, flying in happy circles and not…mezza mezza. This is parts of me and lots of little extras, not quite me, more than me…a little odd and a little not odd. Made from photoimages and digital painting in Photoshop Elements 3
