This is a mannequin I shot in the CBD last week. Was just captivated by her face and wanted to to give it a dark vibe. The doorway behind her is from a trip to Montsalvat about 12m ago and the Chinese lions are from a nursery up in Olinda. I’m starting to get a little tired of Photoshop collages at the, moment – with Autumn coming I’m planning on retreating back up into the mountains and back into pure landscapes again instead of cannibalising my own images.

This is a portrait of redbubble member, Melissa Vowell rendered with charcoal, acrylic and coloured pencil on Arches medium tooth paper. This portrait grows on me a little more each time I look at it. There she is, late at night in a darkened room, sitting in front of her computer, deep in thought. The glow from the monitor casting a delicate light over her face. It could be me. It could be my sister Dee, in Sydney….or our youngest sister, Kristyn in Melbourne. It could be any one of my facebook, myspace or redbubble friends. We’re online. We’re connected. New original art listed every Sunday night in my eBay store
