This is the spring counterpart to my other Barred owl called Winter’s watchman Taken in the same general area in April 2005. You can tell he was just in the swampy water below, either bathing or chasing after a snake to eat, by the wetness present on his feathers.
The White Bellied Sea Eagle – a noble resident of Australia’s coastal regions. You can also find this image with a frame here redbubble don’t feature images with frames on the image so I am providing an unframed image as well in the hope that I may be featured one day.
Photo taken while on holiday in Lake Windermere
This image epitomises a bygone era of elegance, style and charm – halcyon days of weekend house parties attended by “bright young things”, when afternoon tea and croquet on the lawn preceded a civilised evening of cocktails, dinner and charades. The car featured is Halle Selassie’s splendid 1933 Rolls Royce. I recaptured a sense of this era – gracefully modelled by Touchen – at Oldway Mansion, Paignton, Devon, once the home of Isaac Singer, founder of the renowed sewing machine company. Isadora Duncan, the lover of his son Paris, was often seen dancing here – a wild free spirit amidst the opulence.

Here is the Totem Animal the Elk in all his Nobility as this is his gift to us and the color of turquoise is one of protection and when combined with the Elk and his nobility and strength he helps us to unterstand to how to pace the self and when to regroup and rethink so that we can become unbogged in our daily lives on this planet.

You will see this on another art site, under the ID of Eclectia. That is because Eclectia is me. So is DSWilde! Anything bad you read about either is only borne out of jealousy. * grin * Here is what the description says: I was inspired by a wonderful photograph of some stairs in France (you can find it in my favorites) to finish this piece. Took me several hours to complete – not quite sure how many severals but more than usual, I can tell you! I have many variations that now I must decide to toss or keep. This is how I end up with a room cluttered by disks! Thank you for the inspiration, handsome man whose name I forget! This illustration is for a story I started long ago, which has altered much over time, and so far is just something I amuse myself with. It is being considered to finally set it down all in words and to send it out into the world. I’m a little hesitant as once it is penned (so to speak) it will be permanently as written and. . well .. I guess all children must grow up and be what they will, even the ones we create in our minds and with our hands. Yes? and here is what the handsome man, whose name I forget had to say: *euristis:iconeuristis: Jan 9, 2007, 6:17:11 AM / wow! Thank you so much, your postwork is amazing! I’m honored! / — / You can answer me in French, English or Italian…as you wish / Portfolio: www.euristis.com / Personal (french): www.cerise-b.com Just so you know I had his permission to play with his stairs! / ...................................................................................................... The Mad Queen Ardeliah is from the land of Ordine, in the world of Ordem, in a parallel’esque universe. Or, if she’s not strictly from the land of Ordine, it is, at least, wherein she has/is reign(ed)
Helga, sitting very noble and proud on the river bank in the snow. Amur tiger (Panthera tigris altaica), one of 5 remaining subspecies of tiger. The Amur tiger (formally known as Siberian) has the longest pelage (coat) of any of the other subspecies due to the cold climate that they live in. All tigers have four canines, and they only ever turn ‘man-hunter’ when they are old or sick and more than two of the canines are broken. The Amur tigers are the largest of all tigers, weighing in at as much as 700 pounds-though 400-600 is more common. The noble Buffalo connotes sacredness, life, great strength, abundance, gratitude, life builder. Buffalo provides all good things for living, and bestows great curing powers.
It was cold, wet and miserable, the day I visited but I hadn’t come all the way from Australia just to be thwarted in my quest for a picture. There were 2 cars, 2 wheelie bins, 2 traffic bollards and a number of signs outside, and I hesitated as to whether it was even worth taking the camera into the rain. I was persuaded to do so by my kids and this image has been a labour of love ever since. I ain’t too hot at photoshopping so I hope this is worth it :-) Dunrobin Castle has been called home to the Earls and Dukes of Sutherland since the 13th century and was first mentioned as a stronghold of the family in 1401. The Earldom of Sutherland is one of the seven ancient earldoms of Scotland and the Sutherlands were one of the most powerful families in Britain with many important matrimonial and territorial alliances. “The Earldom of Sutherland was created in 1235 and a castle appears to have stood on this site since then, possibly on the site of an early medieval fort. The name Dun Robin means Robin’s Hill or Fort in Gaelic and may have come from Robert, the 6th Earl of Sutherland who died in 1427. The early castle was actually a fortified, square keep, with walls six feet thick and a vaulted ceiling, looking out from a cliff-top position. The keep stood isolated for some 200 years until a staircase and a high house were added. It was encased by a series of additions from the 16th century onwards. In 1785 a large extension was constructed. Remarkably this early keep still survives, much altered, within the complex of these later extensions, making Dunrobin one of the oldest inhabited houses in Scotland.”
