  • Same shoot as Distant Horizon. Taken about 45mins. after dawn looking to the Northern horizon with an incoming tide rolling up onto the East beach at Lossiemouth, Moray Scotland. The beach is relatively steep here near the high tide mark and fast pull-backs captured at a fairly slow shutter produce some beautiful foam patterns Nikon D80 / Manual / 1 sec. at f11.0 / ISO 100 / 18.0-70.0mm f/3.5-4.5 at 18mm / 0.3 ND soft Grad. / 0.9 ND soft Grad. / circular polarizer / tripod / hand release

  • He looks quite a grumpy fellow taken from a different angle!

  • Changed to a larger image and twigged the saturation a bit. Just a tad of slight retouching to attempt to create something a little nostalgic / Make sure you check out the portfolio of the gorgeous WendyL / /

  • This started life as an image with a very distracting background. However, lots of manipulation in Photoshop and some tweaks with Fractalius and Topaz have given it a look I’m really quite pleased with. The instrument is a melodeon, by the way, much favoured by musicians who play for Morris Dance sides. This image has been featured in / PixElations – The Art of Photoshop.

  • You have already learned what the “Flylands Series” is about…....(there is a description in “Gate-Traveller – Flylands No1). So this one shows us a Japanese part of the bursted Earth….a lonely Geisha watches out for other survivors, she hopes the eagle might have a message for her! She carries the light which is necessary to put all the flylands together again, in order to form the entire planet new. This light is kept in the antique Japanese lantern. But at the moment, there is no way for the Geisha to leave her little flyland!..... to be continued

  • While on holiday in Cornwall, my family and I spent a couple of days being beach bums at Fistral beach, Newquay, Cornwall, a major surfing and swimming area in the SW England,UK. / While out in the water these guys were roaming around on the high powered water jet skies patrolling and making sure that we stayed in the yellow and red zones and away from the surfers in the water and also assisting any swimmers/surfers in trouble / The following extracts were copied from The RNLI website. / Royal National Lifeboat Institutution The RNLI operates over 140 lifeguard units around the coast of the UK. We believe we can make a significant difference to safety on our beaches by providing an integrated rescue service from the beach to the open sea. Last year RNLI lifeguards saved more than 60 lives and assisted nearly 10,000 people. / Anymore info on the institution can be found HERE I was a bit dissapointed with a lot of these jet ski shots, I had my camera on the wrong settings derr,so eager to grab a few shots… too high a f number and too low a shutter speed, my (what I though could have been) better shots came out quite a bit blurry, most at shutterspeed of 1/400sec, I was sinking in the sand and up to the knees in the tide.. This is one of the better shots.. Shot with a Nikon D300 and Sigma 70-300 mm lens at a focal length of 300 mm / f13 / shutterspeed 1/320sec / ISO 200 /
