A few miles passed Tortilla Flats, which is outside of Apache Junction, Arizona, this wonderful little oasis pops into view, part of Salt River. Although it is nearly Christmas, the vibrant yellow foliage remains. / Shot with Olympus Stylus 720SW auto, handheld.
Superstition Spring Mountains in Arizona home magnificent desert mazes that one could get lost in…. but don’t!
I love when I find rusted treasures / in the middle of Arizona forests! / Abandoned truck, long ago. / ©Chelsea Nikolaus
This photo has been nameless for a while. I don’t like to have too many “Untitled” so I gave it a name. This dashboard? is in the same location as “Yield” and “Drive”. I was able to jump in the cab of a 92,000 pound dump truck. It was no longer in use and considered a museum type object in the little town of Globe, Arizona. Thanks for looking!

Vince – self explanatory!
Speak your mind! Looks great on everyone.
These mountainous type hills are near Superstition Springs Mountains outside of Apache Junction, Arizona. The small creek pools in this area, giving in return a wonderful reflection.
The sun begins its journey to the other side in Arizona, giving the saguaros one last bath in its warmth.

Venice, Italy. Age adds so much beauty to the alleyways of Venice. / Shot with Olympus Stylus720SW, handheld, auto. / ©Chelsea Nikolaus / /
This was the walkway from our hotel in Venice-shooting at the main street. We walked right passed it a few times because it’s in the back of it’s own little path. This is how the entire city is!
Part of the Arizona Canyon series, this shot was taken at a slightly different angle; attempting to frame those lovely colors in the reflection. The stream slows here, making it so wonderfully calm and serene. / /
Naughty angel was sitting on my shoulder last night. / /
I thought they looked so funny here. Their big floppy ears and big jowels seem to flap like wings with every stride. / Arizona
Eric (the human) and Vince (the 140 lb Great Dane) share / some one on one time. Vince is such a cuddle bug. / Funny thing is, they weren’t posing. I found / them this way! (My husband and our dog) I had to act quickly for this shot and it ended up / being underexposed – all my other shots / were blurry. So to help compensate, I added / the slight blue hue and posterized the edges just / a tad and added very little glow. / ©Chelsea Nikolaus

My father saw this sunflower driving past on the highway – it’s kind of amazing that he saw it. So he suggested I risk my life and cross this busy highway and stand near 70-80 mph traffic to get a picture!! Highway 60 / Arizona near Gold Canyon Canon Powershot
My dad discovered this little jewel driving by at 70 mph. It’s just on the edge of a very busy highway outside of Mesa and Gold Canyon, AZ. / The sunflower is extra special because they don’t grow on the side of the road here like they do in the mountains – further back up the road. Not to mention, he’s growing right of the hot pavement. / There isn’t another one around in sight. His little seed must have hitchhiked in on someone’s car. / Even though I braved the dangerous traffic to get to this thing, hoping a highway officer didn’t show up to haul me off, I had my dad pick out his favorite of the shots and give it a name. / I think mom also had an influence on the title…. June, 2009 / Highway 60 near Gold Canyon
