Panoramic Composition of Sydney Harbour taken on a summer’s night. These images were taken with the white balance set at 6000K with exposures of 30 seconds. Having some clouds in the sky helped provide some texture to the image and a still night contributed to getting some nice reflections off the water. Together I think they help capture the warmth and vibrance of summer in Sydney by night. / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

Nightlife man…off to the nightclubs…7 days a week! A.R.S.E. Speed Tee challenge. I really wanted to put a galaxy on his suit…but it didn’t happen.
What ferris wheels do when no one is looking. Taken last saturday night juxtaposing the bells and ferris wheel. I took lots of shots that night but due to the constantly changing light pattern on the ferris wheel spokes they all came out completely different. For other shots in this genre check out my Urban Landscapes gallery. I’d been meaning to get into the city for ages but a few shots from an old friend jfpictures further inspired me to finally do so.

On a recent visit to “Kapama Nature Reserve” I went on a night drive and got caught up in a “Lion Hunt”. We followed the male and two female lions, off road, through the bush on a open vehicle, normally used for nightdrives. Needless to say that I could hear my heart pumping in my ears! This was my first capture, to be, at night, in the middle of the bush and I really was very nervous as well. The male lion was not even 10 feet away when I got the shot and it was so quick, there was no time for settings, just put it on slow-capture, when the male appeared in the vehicles lights I just clicked! / The females were quiet close, on my side of the vehicle, when I got a shot in on them. I honestly did not think that I would get good captures as it happened so quick and there was no second chance as they went into dense bush that we could go in with the landrover. We searched for another two hours and eventually gave up and went back to the lodge. / I will never ever forget the feeling of excitement and adrenaline pumping, just the thought of capturing a “kill” was overwelming, a oppertunity once in a lifetime !
