  • Various types of waterfowl are the focus on this 2009 calendar. Included in the twelve month collection are the green heron, American white pelican, wood duck drake, cormorant, black-bellied whistling duck, Great egret, ibis, Great blue heron, seagull, yellow-crowned night heron, snowy egret, and the goose. Almost all of these were photographed in my home state of Louisiana.

  • The Crawley Edge Boatshed on the Swan River, One of the most iconic landmarks in Perth. The Boatshed is believed to have been built in the 1930’s. I spent a nice warm summers night shooting at this location out with my new 5DMkII. Featured in: Insomniacs and Other Night Crawlers.

  • This little guy well camoflaged on my wall at night is a wood bug. actually a type of borer, they get in the wood heap and have pincers that could hold an elephant back! These guys are STRONG. Just another nature shot for everyone to see something they might not otherwise get to see, enjoy! I use a Canon Powershot 480 10mp on super macro.

  • Another boatshed located along the Swan River. Taken with my 500D.

  • Como Jetty in Perth Western Australia. EOS 500D.

  • Crepuscular rays can appear when the clouds (or terrain) that are responsible for the rays are below the horizon. The so-called crepuscular rays are solar rays cast on the purple red, while the sun is below the observer’s horizon, and sometimes span the entire twilight sky towards the Earth’s shadow band (the twilight wedge). If the purple red is obvious, look for these uncommon rays fanning out of the horizon. A amazing and rare sight, With the rays of light beaming up from the horizon and right up into the sky as you can see in this shot. EOS 500D.

  • I went back to the Mosman Bay Boatsheds again last night, And on this visit I saw the lowest tide I’ve ever seen on the Swan River. Under normal conditions, I would be standing waist deep in water from where this photo was taken. EOS 500D.

  • This visit to the Crawley Edge Boatshed was a total opposite to my last visit a few days earlier, When the waterline was above the jetty leading to the boatshed due to a storm surge which resulted in a unusually high tide, Which is the opposite to the unusually low tides we have had over the last few days. I decided to walk into the river to get a unusual perspective of the boatshed since I thought the water wasn’t to deep, But in the end, I found myself knee deep in the water shooting the boatshed, And once again, Going home soaking wet. LOL The boatshed was built in the 1930’s and was restored by it’s current owner in the early 2000’s after being in a dilapidated and run down state for many years. EOS 500D.

  • Lights run the length of Coffs Harbour Jetty with seats provided along the final quarter over deeper water. At night there is the opportunity to enjoy solitude and atmosphere of the sea. The jetty is primarily a wooden structure that was originally completed in 1892/3 is popular among tourists.

  • This giant wooden urchin is part of an ephemeral garden built in the place de La Dauversière accross from the Montreal City Hall in Old-Montreal. Each sea urchin measures 2 metres (6ft) in diameter, and there are six of them disposed haphazardly upon a carpet of marigold flowers. The garden was created with the intention of bringing together the coastal communities of the Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie as well as the people of Montréal. The garden was created by NIPPaysage , a firm of Landscape Architects. Focal length 155 mm / ISO-800 / Aperture f/2,8 / Shutter 1/25 sec. Shot in manual mode on a monopod / Nikon D60 / AF-S Zoom-Nikkor 80-200 mm f/2.8D ED (rented) Featured in the group Night Photography on August 25, 2009

  • Looking down the jetty at night.

  • Best viewed larger I caught this litle girl walking through the marigolds of the Ephemeral Garden in Old Montreal. She was fascinated by the pink giant sea urchins sitting among the golden flowers. And she was not the only one, believe me! Focal length 80mm / ISO-800 / Aperture f/2,8 / Shutter 1/30 sec. Shot in manual mode, using a monopod. / Nikon D60 / AF-S Zoom-Nikkor 80-200 mm f/2.8D ED /

  • are you freaked out?

  • As I stood upon a clearing white / My heart so full of fear, / I gazed into the murk of night / And asked that God be near. An angel touched his hand to mine / That I not be alone. / Then a light shone down / To light my way, / And I knew which way was home
