  • This kinda jumps off the screen at you, so duck. :-) I don’t know about you, but I really like this. Of course I’m prejudice. The car is real, from a car show I went to.The rest is added features from Flaming Pear software, such as Flood, Glare, and Organic Edges.

  • Taken in marvelous Melbourne. This shot was thirty seconds long and the sculpture in the foreground (Angel by Deborah Halpern) was in deep shadow, after I tripped the shutter I suddenly remembered that I had a torch in my bag so I quickely grabbed it and painted the sculptures legs with my torch beam to help balance the exposure. For other shots in this genre check out my Urban Landscapes gallery.

  • More fun with the fisheye

  • This shot was the main centre-spread of a feature I recently had published in Tokyo’s ‘Metropolis’ magazine. It has also featured recently in mags in Australia, Singapore and Poland. To beging with the guy hanging out of the window spotted me and then just wouldnt lean out again. I attached my camera to a 10ft monopod, put a cable-release on and held the camera out with an 11mm lens on it. He thought I had walked off and I still got exactly the angle I wanted….

  • The London Eye and The Houses of Parliament at night – London 2008. Canon 400D, f11, 30 secs, ISO 100, 20mm and cropped to 16:9 ratio. See more of my work at Dan Biggins Photography.

  • John and I decided to be one of the first people to photograph the brand new sexy toy the Perth Wheel as of operation 9th Jan 2009. Sort of copied, ok copied from the hugely successful London Eye, the Perth Wheel it stands 50m high, can carry 284 passengers in 36 capsules. For $15 adults $10 children, you get to spend roughly 15 minutes on the wheel, which will do approximately three revolutions. There is even a VIP capsule which boasts leather seats, best to get clients stuck with you high in the sky to approve your business proposal in comfy leather seats and a plasma screen display. Operators are also expecting it to become popular for marriage proposals and birthday celebrations…oh and those girlfriend boyfriend stuff. Who said Perth cannot look like London huh? ;) MORE WORKS FROM MY PORTFOLIO / - – / Shot settings: / Body: Canon EOS 350D / Lens: Sigma 10-20mm DC HSM EX / Shutter Speed: 35” / Focal Length: 13mm / Flash: Did not fire / ISO: 100 / Aperture value: f/8 / Add-ons: 77mm - Hoya Pro-1 CPL + ND8 filter

  • Whilst in Melbourne this week I took a night stroll down towards the MCG from Federation Square off Flinders Street and photographed the Ferris Wheel that is often seen on RedBubble. A long exposure shot of the slowly turning wheel that is covered with ever changing lights revealed the patterns seen in this series of images. This shot incorporated the artistic structure that sits above the ferris wheel on a slight mound. Canon 400D – 17-85 lens.
