  • Siamese cats, day & night, sun & moon….themes that figure heavily in my work. The original painting (acryllic and ink on paper) was commissioned by a man for his bride to be. They were both crazy about their siamese cats and he wanted to surprise her with this very special wedding gift.

  • Dawson City, Yukon, Canada. / Taken at midnight on June 21-22 (solstice day-night)

  • A beautiful evening sky sitting upon the beach as the sun sets in Destin, Florida. Late September; no crowds; just peacefulness. / / Click on the buy/preview button to see the many RedBubble print options for this photo. / /

  • Sky was half black, half sunshine, very weird day!

  • The unique thing about this state park, located close to Chattanooga Tennesse, is it has the Tennessee River going along two sides of it. I was able to get sunsets across the river as well as sunrises (thanks ros..lol)

  • A cool but glorious December night on Choctawhatchee Bay (Gulf Coast of Florida). Here is the golden minute of sunset just before it lays to rest. The scattering cloud coverage created a nice dynamic sky.

  • Just Past Summer It was a time you let go / And caught the wind / Absent a rudder to slice your way through / Just Past Summer, / You let go of wondering how to Love, / You did. / Colors / Blended into one voice / Truth / Beating swiftly / Like cream does to butter. / Just Past Summer, / A fire as big as a sunset / Was started, / Using all the dried up dreams / And the gutter remains. / Rich you said, / Smell the smoke, / Sacred release. / The ashes you spread out like a table / Serving doubt and loneliness / Featuring a cold vichyssoise that had / A hint of Hope. / This hint you said, / Will complement the rest, / Fear not. / Dessert was three layers of / Rich longing, / Covered with a double dark / Butter cream of Love. / Always Love / You said… / Then off you went, / To catch the boat with no rudder, / On a warm Chinook breeze / That took you to Just Past Summer.

  • I got bored one day and decided to use my macro lens on something other than flowers, haha… so I had some old costume jewelry…and here we are. Sigh, someday I’ll have some real diamonds.

  • Red Setting November Sun Our amazing sun, giver of life and heat and the object of myth and legend since the beginning of time.

  • Sunset in Negril, Jamaica. This whole trip for me was about learning how to compose my images. This one in particular I focused on the sun being framed between the palm trees. Taken with the “foliage” setting on my camera with just a little boost with color in digital editing to enhance it.

  • A Victorian Castle Farm in Dunfries & Galloway Southern Scotland / / The Romance music from Witchfinder General. A Confounded Letter. / As nightime therapy then, I listed all the happenings I could not explain. Could not account for in the dreadful, dreary, daily, dumb. Fearful scars across a manic mystery country of my own making. / First across the Camel river then to Lyonesse; to hear the bells under the waves and finding in ivy, hidden Mesopotamian mystery mazes on a rocky valley, carved, cliff wall. A witch body in an old witched blacked stone museum. A big pig, ghost pig, frightening a boy, in Thomas Hardy’s cold boarded, greenwood church. An Adder and a sign Saint under a stone in a river, ending through a fiord. The Once and Future King swimming forever under Tintagel’s sea waterfalls. The light of my stone megalith mystery landscape. The one they call paralis in paradise. Before the moor of excellent dreams. North Grandfather coming into sleep and asking to be aright, all light with his fob and blue Saint golden watch hanging bright. Othneil, Lion of God, my Norman ancestor uncle, haunting me uncertainly with the sad smell of his pipe tobacco in rooms long emptied of memories. The first time I am in Ireland when he dies, in old England and I did not know. A hand touches mine in the Irish peat dark from nowhere. It plays and strokes calmly and then unaccountably leaves. Leaving flowers and the smell of pipe tobacco. A sister asleep with eyes closed at the same time across the widest sea, as Ireland, yet reading aloud and turning pages in an illustrated book.. The Synchronizing of timeless effect and million to one chances happening every tattled tale time I looked around, in and under, in remorseless fogged fear. Finding this music only when I stopped listening and looking in the hiding place of plain sight. A caged cap cavalryman in a Priest hole chimney behind the horsehair and plaster of a friend and ancient farm. The walk across a wooden, yet carpeted floor with spurs a jingle. With his long straight pistol and long straight fluted sword all bright, all blood, all right. The monster sound crashing in the eldrich dark wood of illicit listless love with the girl that ran and ran and ran along the old railway into another woman. The place and line of decapitated Captains of failed industry suicide. All these, still many more, were list listed in the black books of before bright pagan burning, as always. As Sunshine therapy then. Did it work? Oh yes and strangely enough, no. © 2009 Ken Simm.

  • The idea of sacred space has been one of the foundations of Native American philosophy throughout time. We see all life-forms as having their own life cycles, from the Stone (rock) people, to a Cloud person, or to a Standing (tree) person ~ they all have a space that deserves respect. Every creature being has its own territory and respects the territory of other animals. Two-leggeds (humans) also have a personal space that, if respected, becomes Sacred Space. This Mandala was created to represent ‘Sacred Space’ on the Blue Road to Spirit… teepees (home/shelter) in the cardinal directions: White/North; Yellow/East; Red/South; and Black/West (also symbolic of the 4 races). Day skies & Night skies, cloud people, thunder/lightening beings, standing people, mountains, sun and moon. Arrows of respectful friendship and feathers for the gift of respect. Sketch was photographed and painted, edited and filtered in Redfield Plug-in Fractilius, in photoshop7. Great Mystery, / Teach me to honor / the Laws of Sacred Space, / The customs and traditions / of every creed and race. Great Mystery, / teach me to develop / the talents that I own / And to behave with reverence / in another’s home. Great Mystery, / Teach the child in me / to accept with grace / the part of Sacred Mystery / found in every space. Jamie Sams SACRED SPIRIT

Next morning up early for the sunrise… then pack up camp and off we go… fantastic fun! Featured in the Full Moon group

  • Rota Island / Northern Mariana Islands Here you will find palm fringed beaches with virtually no one around, unbelievable diving, pristine waters and incredible volcanic formations. Located along the Marianas Trench which is the deepest known part of the world’s oceans, and the deepest location on the surface of the Earth’s crust. / The trench is about 2,550 kilometres (1,580 mi) long but has a mean width of only 69 kilometres (43 mi). It reaches a maximum depth of about 11,034 metres (36,200 ft) at the Challenger Deep, a small slot-shaped valley in its floor, at its southern end. Life on this island is friendly and unhurried and the hospitality is as unforgettable as the magical sunsets. Rota Island is a natural playground with around 3000 inhabitants and is known by many to be Micronesia’s best-kept secret Rota (Chamoru: Luta) also known as the “peaceful island”, is the southernmost island of the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and the second southernmost of the Marianas Archipelago. It lies approximately 40 miles north-northeast of the United States territory of Guam. Songsong village is the largest and most populated followed by Sinapalo village (Sinapalu). In 1521, the first European to see Rota, was the lookout on Magellan’s ship Victoria, Lope Navarro. However, Magellan’s Armada of three ships didn’t stop until they reached Guam, so the first European to arrive in Rota (in 1524), was Spanish navigator Juan Sebastian Elcano, who annexed it together with the rest of the Marianas Archipelago on behalf of the Crown of Spain.
